never thought of the t drain issue, just always thought how is manny gonna fight a much bigger DLH, good point Bilbo

makes me think why this fight has been made (without mentioning money), is it for DLH to bully manny & he thinks is an easy fight or does DLH generally think this is a superfight thats gonna be superhard?

I bet he's hungry. I mean really, really hungry. The question is how much will he weigh on the unofficial scales. I'll guess 158.

Pac will have trouble because of how far he had to come up, but Oscar is going to be a tad off from coming down too much.
    Oops

I've not heard of many fighters who have moved down two weight classes before.

Oscar looked ripped at 154 I think getting back down to 147 might be very hard on his body.

When you look at Jones Jr, Tarver and Chris Byrd and how much they all struggled with moving down in weight you have to wonder if it's possible for Oscar in his mid 30's to be in fighting shape at 147 any more?

I certainly think it makes for an interesting fight, and if Oscar does beat Pack he WILL deserve a great deal of credit imo.

Everyone is talking about how Manny is moving up to face the much bigger man but it works both ways and Oscar is moving DOWN to a weight class he's not fought in in years.

    Could be tough for Oscar.
Size will be the only factor here...Fact is DLH made this fight with Pacquiao because there was a lack of an elite fighter available for him to face before he retires...

Dawson, Calzaghe too big....Hopkins well we know what happened there already...Vazquez not happening,,Doniare impossible,,,Same for Munoz and Darchinyan...Klitschko just proposturous....

Pacquiao the only one...He is not chancing Margarito after his last 3 blowouts....Williams bad move again...Cotto....would not before and after the loss to Tony the marketability lost some.....

Pacquiao only choice left....DLH is desperate for a victory over a P4P fighter in their prime before he retires....He hinks he has the upperhand with Pacquiao...and he might...but it is shameful that he is that desperate....I hope Pacquiao hands him his ass...Would serve him right

I don't know Dax! De La Hoya now openly says that this will not be his last fight. There's still time for him to set up fights with Vasquez, Donaire, Darchiniyan, etc...

He will only attempt to make those fights if Solis or Roman Gonzales are busy

I think its a ridiculous fight for boxing. Manny started his career at what 112 115 lbs and has been moving up dramatically the last few yrs all the way to 135 for the bigger money and bigger fights. Manny is still a small guy. How long has DLH been at 154 160 lbs? He is so settled into that weight that its just a huge disadvantage for manny to fight DLH. But hes getting his biggest purse ever. I think thats bad for boxing when you have a small guy move up so much in wieght for a "dream" fight. That sounds like a video game. DLH has for the most part fought guys that either move in weight or are past their prime. The times hes fought fighters closer to his level its always been contraversial. Whitaker, Quartey, Trinidad, Felix Sturm. The only credible ko I give him is against Vargas and even then it was a Vargas on steroids. What would have happen if it was the quick and crisp punching Vargas and not a Vargas that seemed to be more ready for body building then a boxing fight? Then there are the Shane Mosley and Floyd Mayweather fights that he lost. That it seemed like he could do more but just decided not to. Always being so carefull about not getting hit. He fought Hopkins and got ko'd by a body shot that did not seem so hard because right after the referee waived it off DLH started pounding on the canvas. So why didnt he use that energy to get up. DLH made a name by beating up a lot of older guys because they were ex-champs like Jorge Paez, Julio Cesar Chavez, David Kamau, Chicanito Hernandez, Jesse James Lieja, Oba Carr among many others. It should be another easy fight for DLH but I kinda hope that Manny does whoop him bad. If he was a true champ like he claims and wanted to go out beating somebody that is on top then he should fight Margarito or atleast someone closer to his wieght like Vernon Forrest, Cotto, Williams. Why fight a lil guy that DLH doesnt gain anything in beating but loses a lot if he were to lose the fight. If DLH just wants to get that W then fight someone his own size and not pick on a smaller guy that couldnt even carry his power to 135. Why not give a rematch to the German Felix Sturm who obviously beat DLH but thay gave it to him to set up the Hopkins fight. Its funny how he declined a fight with Margarito but now there are rumors that his associate Shane might fight Margarito. So IF Shane beats Margarito will DLH fight Shane again Sounds like nothing but business to make theri own pockets richer. Thats the same type of crap that DLH claimed he would try to rid boxing of. I hope Manny wins but his chances are slim to none.
