That uppercut did nothing but land, it had no effect.

On the slow motion replay, it really did land with some force but when you watch it in real time, Joe took it and threw right back like nothing had happened.

There was a round late on when Joe landed a right jab and Roy just stopped dead in his tracks and put the earmuffs on and Joe stood back then went for the body!!??

I was thinking that Jones was gone then, Joe should have really noticed that, I mean a jab!! Roy did just shut up shop, Joe should have thrown everything at him.

There were a few times in the fight where Joe could have or should have gone for the kill.

Imagine being in Roys boots that night, you drop Joe in the first, then hes got you backed up to the ropes landing shots, you land quite a few nice shots on him but you still have to cover up and cower on the ropes because hes walked through them, he even lets you take free shots on him and he just shakes his asss at you

If Roy were made to ask truthfully im sure hed say Joe would at least be a handfull for him in his heyday, im sure Roy didnt take this just for a payday because im not sure this would have made a ton anyway, with Roys ego, im pretty sure he thought he stood a good chance of winning but with Joe able to totally embarrass him and do as he likes the entire fight after all Roys training and rehabilitation, I think hes pretty dumbfounded and may be questioning his whole career now.

Ok, he had the excuse the weight loss hurt him for the second Tarver fight and he took the Johnson fight too soon after, he still wan rounds in those fights but to lose to Joe in that manner after preparing the best he could

Joe is only a few years younger, (not the 8 that Kessler was to Joe), so roy (and his fans) knows he cant use the age difference as much as hed like.

Roy will now be wondering whether Joe could have done that all along

I think he could have, Roy has always put the earmuffs on under pressure but has relied on opponents slowing down or having breaks, Joe of ten years ago wouldnt have stopped for a breath, the guy can also take a good shot and ten years ago was getting stoppage wins because his hands were fresher, Roy doesnt hold any aces over a young Calzaghe, other than the steroids advantage
The steroid thing was a one off it was something in a suppliment he was taking both him and Hall was positive of it he was never found positive before this fight or after

This is a paragraph from a Calzaghe interview in the boxing news a week before Calzaghe fought Jones regarding fighting him now or in the 1990's early 2000's and why now is better. No way! we're being paid loads more money! if i'd fought him 10 years ago i would've ended up with rubbish money and would have had a much better chance of getting beaten because he was so much better then anyway! do you think im mad or what?!

Another reason i say he should call it a day.....as far as the scores the judges mid-as-well have stopped filling out the cards mid way through no question who won that fight.

Calzaghe has one hell of a chin. Look at that uppercut Jones ripped in the sixth and those uppercuts from Kessler in the fourth. Calzaghe has a good chin.

Ive never seen him do a chicken dance, nor laid flat on his back unable to move. Now those guys have "no chin".

No matter what your opinion of Calzaghe is, I don't see how you can argue he doesn't have a great chin. He wasn't shaken up at all in the knockdowns against RJJ or Hopkins.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

I gave jones the first and last round. The last round was part sympathy and part that neither fighter did much that round and it looked like joe was carrying jones that round and could have knocked him out if so desired.

Calzaghe not having a chin is absurd, the man takes flush shots just keeps walking on thru em. In his last 2 fights I think he was just "cold" and got caught in the first round, his body and mind weren't fully there yet. he got caught with some harder shots later on in both fights and they did nothing to him. Shit if joes got a bad chin then only margarito and andrade can claim to have good chins

Shaken up enough for his brian to get jarred and knock him on his ass. Not to mention by single blows. Now Hopkins has a chin.

Joe hit Jones 10 to 1 and around 5 shots of that hit Jones Arms, so Joe still hit him by 5 to 1, Joe was fitter, faster, and wanted it more, and if Jones could up his work rate Joe would have put in even more effort, he was'unt going to be beat, Joe won, the clean way,.
