Alright so I'm saying hello to Armando Muniz as I walk he happened to be at the door. So were talking about the event and were talking about the Martinez-Bunema fight as he was there in attendance that night.

Then right in the middle of our conversation I see none other the the man, the myth, the legend....

"Terrible" Terry Norris. It was fucken mind blowing to see him. It was really surprising to see him there. He was great man, I told him I had nothing but love for him. He shook my hand and we took a picture. Then I saw he had Terry Norris gloves so I bought one from him and he autographed it for me. I quickly chatted with him about his fight vs. Mugabi. He said he was so excited when he caught with the shot and he felt he was flying in the sky from excitement. We also talked about his fight with Curry briefly...
Terrys condition is good, he does slur but you can still understand him and you can see his hands/fists are pretty stiff from the punching.

After chatting with Terry, I put my glove in my bag and wish him well.
Turn around and I see Paul Gonzalez, someone who I read a lot about and heared a lot about growing up in East L.A.
For those who don't know Paul was part of the 1984 US Boxing team and the Light Flyweight gold medalist. He was team mates with Steve McCrory, Pernell Whittaker, Mark Breland, Tyrell Biggs, Meldrick Taylor, Frank Tate, Henry Tillman and Holyfield.

As a pro he did not have the same success as he did in the Olympics having a short lived career. He did get a shot at the title vs. Orlando Canizalez but lost via TKO on cuts as Canizalez was able to catch him early on and cut him up to force the stoppage.

Simply put,these are absolutely out-f!!!!-standing Mick.Great pics and it sounds like a blast.Count yourself lucky my man,many would give a lesser limb to have that experience.Your enthusiasm comes through,love the Norris Pic especially.Glad he is doing well after a career of excitement.

I love to see these events,The past older greats meshing & blending with the current greats really puts the huge greatness of this sport into one focus....and why we love it .Anything On Marvin Johnson,Did he show up for induction?Love watching his battles with Saad,Lopez etc.Just classics.

Griffith looks great...Happy!!Good to see Gonzalez as well.I thought he got shafted a bit in second fight with Canizales,butting heads like billy goats.Seemed injury prone but solid,just did not pan out.Just noticed Danny Lopez...man he looks like he is ready to answer the bell in that one . Thanks for sharing dude.Awesome insight as always.

Gaspar Ortega, George Chuvalo, Carlos Ortiz, Bobby Chacon, Rodolfo Gonzalez, Gil King, Danny Lopez, Marvin Johnson, Terry Norris, Emile Griffith, Tommy Morrison, Mia St. John, Alvaro Lopez, Alex Ramos were also in attendance.

It was great to see Alex and I said we were all pulling for him and it was great to see him again. I hugged him and told him he fought back like a true champ.


- Mia St. John was charging 5 dlls. for pictures and different amounts for autographed pictures, posters and playboy Mag.

- Tommy Morrison was charging for autographs but not for pictures.

- "Irish" Gil King was there and then suddenly disappared.

- I talked for several minutes with woman referee, Gwen Adair. She was great and lots of fun. She talked to me about how she got started in the business and some of here most memorable moments.

Did not notice at first but,read into it what you will but thats sad with Morrison basically sitting all the way down at the end of table apart from rest,Mick was he stand offish or what?

All I can say is thanks for sharing that with us, you certainly get about mate. You have so many pics with all these boxing greats/legends it makes me insanely jealous

Cheers mate, I just take advantage of every opp. that comes my way and I live it up and make the best of it.

I've got a personal photographer with me all the time.

seriously, I just ask anyone whos standing around near by. For the most part everyone knows the rule that if someone asks you can you take a pic. for me you say yes and at one point or another someone will return the favor.

Norris is doing good and it also showed in how busy he's been touring.

Marvin was there and was busy as hell signing autographs. Unfortunately I did not manage to get a pic. with him.
