Maybe Cotto did take a lot out of Paulie that's possible, but Paulie has never been that good. I don't remember Paulie winning five rounds either. I would say four was a bit of a stretch but it has been awhile. And Cotto looked horrible at the weigh in, as drained as anybody I've ever seen.
Basically Cotto did more damage partly cause Paulie was more willing to fight and Hatton won more rounds. Not that it really matters unless you're a huge fan of either guy.
You can't use the argument "Cotto finished Paulie" because Paulies best performance/win came AFTER Cotto.
It's simply a case of - Paulie's not that good.
Cotto can have the excuse of being undermotivated for such a NON-dangerous puncher, as well as the OBVIOUS weight troubles he had. Cotto still smashed him.
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
Hatton outboxed him, hurt him whenever he landed anything significant and took hardly any punches.
Cotto inflicted much more damage (had more chances to as they traded a lot), took more shots from Malignaggi, it was a much more competitive fight.
Cotto did it the hard way, Ricky did it the easy way.
