Kirkland is great to watch though but it will be his downfall, he's just too wild, he's gonna get clipped, its inevitable.
Daxx got it,he wasnt too wild at all,he was stiff and not wanting to screw up his network debut. He never varied from the game plan, but that also meant he took very few risks. He took exactly what Vera was giving him,and pounded it.
Give him a few more network fights and he'll find a middle ground between his stiff but effective performance against Vera, and his earlier free-wheeling style.Or he gets his head handed to him.
But regardless,he did win the fight, and win it easily, cut the kid an ounce of slack here.

More of the problem is mate...Not that anyone is not wanting to give Kirkland credit for the win because it was a good one....Just that Vera did soo lousy that it seems almost unfair to give up too much credit to James....

When a fighter does as shitty as Vera did it becomes easier to criticize the winner for what he did not do to get the guy out of there or to look more stellar then just say..."Good Job"...........Kind of like..."With the way that guy fought he should not have even landed a glove..what's wrong with you"...

But that is not Kirklands fault....He had no idea on what Vera was going to come in and perform like......

On that same note we can ask ourselves ..."Did Vera perform like that because of what Kirland was giving him"...Which would add to James performance.....

Was a good win like I mentioned...he has a few adjustments to work on but he has time....No need to take away from his thunder....
Personally,I thought Vera would come in and impose his will, being the bigger fighter.Thats why Im giving Kirkland as much credit as I am,every time Vera tried that Kirkland allmost removed his head for it.
He was stiff, and Im sure he understood the historic signifigance of the fight, and that made him tight. It was the first time a female trained boxer co-headlined an HBO event ever. But even fighting in robot-mode,he beat the hell out of Vera.
Credit to Vera for this,he took an amazing beating out there, and kept wanting to fight.
