Default 5 week holiday ends today :-(

It's amazing how relaxing happy times go so fast... I feel like i've only had 2 weeks off. But 5 weeks have passed and i'll be leaving for work in 9 hours time...

I often think to myself whether I would be truly happy and not get bored if I never worked again.. But after 5 weeks and knowing that it'll be another year before I have some good time off again, I think I can honestly say if I never ever had to work a regular job again, i'd be happy... I'd probably have to find a cool hobby like restoring old Chevy's or something... But having you're whole life available to do whatever you liked, without having to work a job half the day to eat and live, that would be amazing..

It's hard to think that 70% of your waking life is spent at a job working for someone else... Think of the world and life that we humans are born into.. A life of obligations and set routine... It's rather sad..

I wish my holidays would never end...

Nuh I didn't even really come close.. I'm kind of disappointed.. I enjoyed the shit out of my holidays, but i'll probably realise just how much time I wasted when I get back to work and don't have any spare time again....
I'm determined to still do something with my meeting girls mission... But these holidays weren't the time

    Ah! time for more Zen.

    See the trap?

Nows the time to just be right in the moment and not think backwards or forwards otherwise it will create friction and that friction will slow the wheels of your mind down so that you torture yourself with could be's in a false time zone.

<- Father time (Ive been waiting to use that simile)

If you just stick to now and look forward to what the next moment could present to you from within this moment and you immerse yourself in it fully then you are free from the restraints of a past thats gone and a future that isnt here yet, so you can remain in holiday mode with whatever your doing at this moment and time flies the more involved in the moment you are. If the moment is an un enjoyable one look at it as a great learning curve and study it harder and see what it brings to you in the big picture not just as an opposite to what you think you want .

Time does go by quickly. Its almost 2 months since I stopped working but it feels much less than that. But then, I only stopped teaching and I have been at my books here at home Mon-Fri 9 to 5 with only a few days missed here and there because I just couldnt be bothered. So I guess it hasnt really been a holiday yet for me.

The prospect of working again doesnt entice me at all, but I suppose I will have to get back to it again at some point. My retirement isnt going to pay for itself. I said I would take six months off but Ive had a few calls from people looking for teachers. So, Im seriously contemplating working again next year. Im sure within six months of that I will be announcing my retirement again!

Life is too short and the need for money too pressing to do anything but work. And then the few years of retirement whilst you are at your least able to actually enjoy the fruits of all that toil and then yer dead!! Whats the point in all that

I have the same idea, I don't really want to be rich when I can't enjoy the money. I'd rather work a year or two saving as much money as I can then leaving and traveling the world, try new things. I've always wanted to sky-dive and maybe even base jump one day, go snowboarding in Canada or run like fuck away from bulls in Pamplona. Kind of sad so many people get caught in mortgages in their early 20's which practically stops them from doing these things till 30-40 years later, where your body isn't up to the task.

Also Diz if this isn't too personal, what went wrong with the meeting girls task?
