It was a good stoppage. Verno was taking a beating to the body, and I'm not sure how much longer he would have lasted. Plus, he no chance of winning on points.

Yeah williams won by tko. The cut was from an accidental headbutt in the first, and wasn't really getting any worse. Williams fought like that against Margarito, just not that early. He cuts pretty bad recently. Doesn't seem to bother him, and thats in basically the worst spot you could get cut besides the eyelid.

Actually I could only see PBF or Margarito having a realistic chance of beating him @ 147, ignoring another Quintana obviously

Well im sad Phillips lost, but Williams fought a great fight. I cant think of any fighter whos nickname better fits him. Hes just relentless. Credit to both guys.

Williams is really good. If he can use his jab more effectively and use his range a little more then he pretty much has it all. I think he would beat Margarito again. He's a stylistic nightmare for anyone.

I would say Williams has it in him to beat anyone at WW, including Floyd Mayweather.
