And it didn't kill you because we have gun control laws?. I'm shocked
.
What kin of bear was it?
We have a ton of black bears on the island, only 1 report of any grizzlies though.
I had to deal with a ton of them during the dig this summer, but they were all scared of us, thank God. I surprised one from about 20-30 feet away, but thankfully it took off.
Interesting, you also have tons of guns now dont you? At a rate of 31.5 guns per 100 residents.
And theres a difference between a black bear that hasnt had much contact with humans, they run for it,and one that starts living off of humans. I have an 8 year old of my own, and dont particularly feel like waiting for the rangers to shoot the bear(which is what they'll do anyway) if theres a confontration.
And theres also a difference between owning a gun in a locked case in the storeroom thats double trigger locked, with the ammo in a seperate room, then say having one hanging on a wall.Or walking around every day with a .44 strapped to your waist.
The brush you paint with,is a wee bit on the broad side, and the swatch you paint isnt accurate either.
But we have gun control laws, how it that possible? That was your original point, remember: Gun control is a bad thing because of bears.
FWIW The bear Youngblood was talking about was clearly used to human contact, as are the ones around here, but that doesn't mean we should allow pretty much any idiot to own a firearm, especially hand guns.
Your last sentence doesn't make any sense, but that's not unusual with you.
No,that wasnt my point, your original point was to say you have gun control laws that make it imposable to own a gun.....
You dont,Canada has plenty of guns
A .22 rifle in both Canada and the US can be bought without a backround check. Its a hunting weapon.
Im all for reasonable gun control laws, the general public should probably not be allowed to own M-16's. There should be waiting periods even for hunting weapons(this will cause the NRA nuts to have a fit) if you need a gun sooner then 24 hours,I probably dont want you having one, because you have an agenda. I fully support backround checks for concealed weapons permits.
But for you to take a high and mighty perch of "We dont have guns,we have gun control laws" is BS,you rank 6th in the world in per citizen gun ownership. Dont get on a high horse if you cant stay there.
And to further the point, any idiot can do alot of damage with a knife,a bow and arrow,a large rock, fireworks, industrial strength cleaners, a needle and thread.
How much do we ask the government to regulate?
A gun is strictly a tool for wildlife control and target practice. A hammer is a tool to put nails in,or bash someones freaking head in,in the wrong hands.
As far as Bears, the bear Youngblood saw will probably be back around and get bolder all the time.
Unless of course the local game commission shoots it,which they will probably end up doing eventually, you know, with a gun and everything
I never said we couldn't own guns here, I said we had gun control laws, which we do. My uncle has enough guns to equip a small South American army. I'm well aware that we have very high per capita gun ownership (I've seen that Michael Moore movie too), yet somehow we don't go around killing each other with them at a frantic pace like you guys do.
All I did originally was poke fun at the reasons you guys felt the need to legalize near-universal gun ownership and you starting rambling about bears.
But thanks for reminding me why I, like almost everyone else who's been here for any length of time, ignores your inane posts. Apparently I'd forgotten why I did that, but I'll go back to doing it now, thanks for the reminder.
