How the fuck can a legend like MAB be fighting over in china when their are still big fights for him to be had??

It was just a public workout for him. It wasnt a big fight so It didnt make headlines. He actually weighed in as a lightwelter and I agree he did look soft at that weight

On the contrary to people who think he didnt look rejuvinated , I was quite pleased with Marcos approach . He was fighting a guy with a decent KO ratio at lightwelter and Barrera took the fight to him . He was boxing like the old aggressive Marco rather than the polised counter puncher weve seen in recent years. He cut off the ring well and stopped his man with body shots in the 4th .

We cant judge him on that performance but I think he needed a break. Too many 12 round fights agaionst top fghters at his age took its toll. Now he is rediscovering his passion and Don King is the guy who can make big fights happen . He is already ranked number 1 contender for Campbells title and the fight will happen next April . That will be the real Barrera comeback . This was just a warm up . Also if Marquez cant get a Hatton or Pac fight then who better to fight than Barrera ? Unsettled business and Marco will be well rested by then.

If I am not mistaking, Don was in China on business and he was trying to promote boxing in that country but I personally think Don is a canibal and he was in China eating chinese people I can just picture him now picking his teeth with a toothpick and waving a chinese flag all the while saying only in China, only in China

Don King is being smart here, China is an untapped market for boxing. They have tons of money and gained some national pride in the sport since their boxing team had success in the Olympics (by their standards). While it is undoubtedly exploitive to use boxers in this manner, when is a major card not exploitive? Promoters do these things for money. I think that this got very little international exposure because it was geared almost entirely to the Chinese market. Plus after all the big name wars MAB has been in the opponent he was in with was a mere footnote.
