However there is just one problem.

There's a guy who I work with on my department and he is an absoloute knob. He's in around late 30's and really pisses me off. Steve his name, he works there full time....

He always trys to bring me down and makes comments about my work. Saying it's poor and a load of crap. Another colleague informed me he referred to me as a "Shithead" the other day. A few colleagues tell me he's been talking to them about myself. I've even heard him refer to my work once as "Useless". I responded by saying "If it's that bad why don't you do it then".

The shithouse he is, hasn't got the balls to personally call me names to my face, If he ever tried that I would give him a load of abuse back.

He always gives me dirty looks and never speaks to me unless he wants to say something negative.

I'm not hot-headed by any means but I can picture myself lashing out one day at him when I've had enough. One thing that could happen is there are no CCTV in the back of the store and If we are around each other and he says anything it could get nasty.

All colleagues have to complete 12 weeks before they are offered a contract, my 12 week period finishes next week (I've been offered a contract). When it's up I'm really thinking about asking the boss to move me department.

I'm just wondering people, put yourselves in my shoes and what would you do ? Just ignore him ?

I'm only 17 yrs old remember

    Cheers

Been there plenty of times when i was a bit younger. This nob at work will most likely have no social life,no girlfriend, and no prospects in his life!!Just think about it bud,he's the one who's weak because he's the one who is showing all the signs of frustration and feels great thinking he can chew people younger than him.Dont take it too harsh and just laugh it off!You know,i know and the other people who work along side him know that he's a nob.Just do what your payed to do mate and if you get too pissed off by him it'll be worth while gannin on the bag when you finish work and let off some steam!Plus dont let work drag you down.Always remember that work is only part of life so dont class as life is all about work work work!

He's not even worth hitting mate, believe me.If anything he might want you to kick off so he can get bonus points built up in his mind.Dont give him the satifaction bud!

Get yourself out with your mates or go for work out on the bag or a jog!It helped for me when i was younger!

I had a similar problem many years ago, I ended up just suggesting I would beat up my floor manager and I got fired on the spot. I hated this fucker.

Just remember you need the little money and you are only there part time.

Ignore him, but try to see if he brings a lunch and then do things to his lunch, you can use your imagination or do a google on how to get back at co workers with out getting caught but you must NEVER, EVER brag or boast about this to anyone. Keep your little job, so at least you will have something to fall back on later as a resume in the near future for any other part time jobs. Don't get your self fired if push comes to shove, talk to the boss and tell him you are thinking about leaving because you are unconfortable in your dept. You can't biatch and moan if you really suck at your job though. If you are not giving it 100 % then you have nothing to complain about, I guess you are just new and have not learned the ropes all that well. Remember you are only there part time and this biatch is there all day, fuck with his car or get one of your homies to do it for you but no one else must ever know. A fish dies by it's own mouth and so do people who do things and then brag about them so remember, mums the word. All I can say is just let him talk, talk is free and keeping your mouth shut when he says anything will deter him some. Just pretend he is talking chinese or something lol. Don't know what else to say but good luch.

start pulling your weight and quit being such a dog fuker.

Secondly, don`t listen to me. I told my last boss to stick it up his ass and made fun of him in front of the whole place, staff and customers. He sorta deserved it, as was pulling a heavy on me, as likes to with most employees and in front of people...but yea, in hindsight...I prob. should have handled it differently.

Gotta admit, it felt good though. Pegged the bastard for what he was...a controlling and condescending prick who did things for pure self-gratification and often without logic and reason towards the working environment. Won`t look good on a resume...so, yea, best to consider such things before acting.

I have no idea what i would do Lee sorry i really can't give you any real advice. I haven't been in that situation before, but if it was me i don't know if i could control myself.

I would probably confront him about it and ask him what his god damn problem is, then he would probaby say something offensive. And i'd probably end up clumping him.

So confronting him isn't the solution because if he says something insulting to you. Are you going to be able to control yourself ? and what good would it do ?

I think Josh had the best advice just try and ignore him, or speak to someone at your work about it. And report him for harrassing you or ETC. Unfortunately Lee work is just like school.

You always get some knob head trying to make your life shitty, but you'll get through it mate any of my solutions above would be the best idea. Let us know how you get on.

Ive been to similar situation when i was still a jr. architect in our company. Some designers(5-15 years my senior) talk shit about my work behind my back. I heard all kinds of criticism, unprofessionalism and etc... you name it.. They do this childish act whenever the senior partners in the company entrusted me an important task.

10 years later, from being jr. architect, i am now part of the design consultant and them.. still there at the technical department which is under my department.. Now, all their work design comes to my office and needs my approval... i always play around not to approve their work... revenge time..

    Lesson...

DONT GO TO THEIR LEVEL(being an a**hole)... just go on with your business and do your best...

lefty, you are only 17 bro... time is in your side..

All great replies in here even the pay back ones.
    Josh is a wise fella.
I think ,to think of ways to get him back if you can see the humour in it, is fun and is a release from the tension of the situation and can stop you from banging his head on the floor.
They can be done if never caught.

You be real nice about it place your hand on his shoulder and try to be serious as you ask him If he is bi sexual or gay ,because the last guy who acted this way towards you ended up hitting on you .

There are ways to play with this to make him stop.
Chances are he grew up with his dad or his mum belittling him at every turn and he doest know any better.

You could voice that opinion once you reach his level at work and say that it actually stands out to everyone and that he should re think his approach to life.

    Truth is this prick has been bought up to be shallow and kept at a certain depth at the end of lifes pond;

So shallowthat he cant swim in the deep end or rise above anything on his own.
He is like those women you hear down the street that just spend their time hanging sh!t on other women cause its the only way left for them to feel they are above someone else.

Some uneducated people think if they can prove someone else wrong to another that they must be better!
    Its stealing thunder.

(happens out on our front page here all the time )

It is something that has them trapped in a spot in this life and at times for an eternity and they cant see it but you can.
So have fun with it bro...

On another note , ever found a pubic air in the bottom of your coffee cup?

Ever got into your car and thought fuk this is a low rider today what the fuu , ohh damn my tyres have been knived !$!$!$$$!!!

That said, vengence is a dish best eaten cold.

Remember if it comes to blows away from the work place ,dont forget to take their wallet and all possesions; you cant be working for nothing.

Ohh continually beaming at him (like youre the cat that got the cheese) forces him to rethink his tactics ,he will think your a nutter and leave you alone in fear. 'Or he will think you know something he doesnt.
Little stories in the lunch room of how you and your mates have done up some fukker who thought he was tough boy etc etc .

Things that simply have him wondering, which is less dangerous for him than using that brain of his..

He could be jealous of you, your in school, your a 17 year old who has a job, and he is a middle age men that works with you. He probubly hates every teenage thats on the right track cause he never found the right track for himself.

Everyone comes across a-holes, I myself is the youngest at work. The way i deal with a-holes is i confront them and make sure they understand I may be younger but Im a man too. Dont confront them with aggression but with intelligentlemen(my word) See older guys who are like this are intimidated inside of us younger guys cause they know we will surpass them easily. So when we confront them with the smarts we have over them they have no choice but to realize not to fuck with us, cause we are the future bosses.

Just keep up the good job Ryan, try one of our advise here.

If none of our advise work, then as soon as you get your driving license. Run that sonbitch over
