help please

i took my daughters sledging for the first time yesterday, I took loads of great photo's & footage on my camera, but accidently deleted them today (I have done this before as really easy on the model i have) my wife said her boss said that you can take it to a specialist who can get hold of the images somehow from the memory card, does anyone know if this is true

any help would be much appreciated

O would say what your wife's boss said is probably true. It is certainly true for computer hard drives.

When things get stored on a memory card, there is a list of the names or numbers of the items that are stored, including the memory locations, then the items (pictures) themselves. When you delete, you just delete the list, the actualy items are still there, but your camera's CPU has no way to access them. Special techniques are required.

If its any consolation,when I got married,some idiot handed me the camera on our way out of the courthouse.I had just gotten married for the love of god,my hands were twitching like a Mako that had just been landed on a boat, why give me the camera?

that makes me feel better mate, i just hope it snows again so can get sum more pics sledging again
