He saved the US economy from hyperinflation, something caused by Nixon taking the dollar off the gold standard to inflate away the deficits he's rung up. We're in a similar situation now and if the current policies to end deflation tip us into hyperinflation you'd better pray whoever is president has the balls to do what Caret did.
