Well, My grandparents are long gone, But when we (siblings) all get together at Mom and Dad's for Christmas and I have a hard time shopping, well I just visit the licquor store on the last day. A big bottle of champagne along with a couple cans of frozen orange juice usually goes over well.

As for your girlfriend, I'm not sure what part time means, but some quality time uisually goes over well if she really digs you. Candlelight dinner at a nice restaurant maybe?
