Williams beat a Tyson that probably everyone here felt would make Williams a one round victim. Tyson just didn't have it any more.

That said, I voted for Williams based on his win over Tyson plus the fact he held up til the late rounds against Vitali. Just explaining my reasoning it doesn't mean I am right,

You should watch it again. Tyson completely froze up. I believe he went into shock. Williams certainly didn't beat him. Tyson's body shut down and he just stood there and took 20 plus shots without moving or grabbing or anything. I give Williams credit for taking the beating the first couple rounds, but he didn't do anything to beat Tyson. Tyson's body failed.

He couldn't do it THEN he couldn't have done it if he was in his prime now either.

    Brewster
    Lyakhovich
    Wlad Klitschko
    Rahman
    Brock
    The Ibrigamovs

Plenty of fighters out there who would have beat him...but don't get me wrong he'd be in the top of the division but he wouldn't "wipe the floor" with the title holders (other than Valuev, he'd murder him)
nah respect your opinion but i think bruno was superior. I think klitschko would be despatched early. brunos power would be too much for wlads fragile whiskers

Frank Bruno might not be one of the boxing greats but he was far better than Danny Williams. I base that on the fact Bruno was quicker, fitter, harder puncher, better combination puncher and better at taking a dig. Anyone that Williams has fought with any class has hammered him, fair enough there was a few around when Bruno was at his pomp that were better than him I can honestly say that there is not a heavyweight just know in world boxing as good as Bruno was. Also exept for fraudly sorry Audrey Harrison I have never seen a less busier fighter than Danny Williams.

Both those guys weren't that good. lol Bruno was the more accomplished of the two by winning a world title. I also think Bruno had a better jab and would of easily out boxed Danny. Assuming Bruno doesn't get scared out of his mind, like he was against Mike Tyson. I thought his corner should of gave him the paper bag treatment in between rounds. Both of these guys are better then a punk like Andrew Golota or his stable mate Peter McNeeley But they sure aren't worth me typing anything more about this subject. IMO

weren't most opponents scared of tyson before they got in the ring with him in his prime?.....and yet bruno did it twice....when tyson was near his prime and not near his prime (but when tyson was better than when williams beat him)...

bruno: williams is no contest IMO....williams is not a top level fighter and bruno would outbox him....probably stopping him after 8 rounds....

Yeah definitely. But Bruno inparticular was terrified! He said right after the fight "Tyson was on me like a Harbor shark" He looked about as scared of Tyson as Golota looked agains Lennox Lewis. terrified

Spinks was terrified as well. However Spinks atleast attempted to fight. He did try to throw a few punches before gettin KO'd. On the other hand, a terrified Bruno just held Tyson and tried to put him in a full nelson or something. If Bruno wouldn't of showed off his wrestling moves, he would of got KO'd just as fast as Spinks. IMO

Bruno could still give Danny a good fight if he came out of retirement now .

When Bruno almost came back to fight Audley he would have stood a great chance with hindsight . He must have been kicking himself when he saw Danny take his moment away . It would have been a great retirement fight but its just a shame he went mad

Yeah that's right, I forgot all about the first Bruno and Tyson fight. Bruno did give Tyson a pretty good fight the first time. But that second fight he had with Tyson was awefull. I guess everytime I think of Frank Bruno I just can't get that image of him holding on for dear life out of my head. lol But I agree Bruno was a hell of a lot better then Danny Williams. In all seriousness Bruno did give Lennox Lewis a much better fight then Tyson did.

The second Bruno Tyson fight was a farse if you ask me, firstly Don King only gave big Frank a shot at Mccall only if he gave Tyson a shot if he won, which he did, he also had to fight with an outstanding injury to his eye i think if im rite, also it was to soon after the big celebrations after the Mccall fight, i dont think he would of wn with better preperation but i feel Frank had his moment and was not prepared mentally and physically for Tyson that night.

haha! Bruno had a weak chin, danny can take a better punch imo

Bruno lacked the heart of a boxer, he had more than enough to be a good champion, he cuda whiped tyson to... he just never had the heart, the killer instinct. Thats why Tyson won, thats why Bruno was never a great, he lacked the one thing you couldn't teach.
What are you on about? If there is one thing that Bruno never lacked it was heart. Ability was what he lacked IMO. 'He cuda whiped Tyson to'
At that point in both Tyson and Bruno's career Bruno could have fought Tyson ten times, but he would have lost ten times, that was due to the ability of both fighters, heart had nothing to do with it. You can have all the heart in the world but that won't win you fights alone.
I don't think that Bruno had more than enough to be a good champion as you say.
I think he was a likeable character, but an average fighter who i respect because he loved the fight game so much and always showed immense determination.

I find the fact that he fought for the a title 4 times amazing, and although Oliver McCall was an unstable person i take nothing away from Bruno's victory over him.
