Wins in their last 3 bowl games isnt good?

...When you have 8 games vs Big Ten opponents not to mention you get to count games like COASTAL CAROLINA you had better have over 9 wins!!!! NEWSFLASH Michigan and OSU aren't good anymore!

The entire conference is crap....I'd be surprised if Penn State keeps within 30 of USC

Coach Johnson doesn't even have all his recruits in and he has changed what was a west coast offense to a triple option offense that this year is being run by underclassmen Dwyer, Nesbit, Jones...they will all be back next year and the year after that. You will soon remember how easy it was to recruit players to run the option...Nebraska in the 1990's anyone?!?!?!

Georgia Tech isn't my favorite team by any stretch of the imagination but let me tell you Paul Johnson is going to win a couple national championships....he'll win one before Joe Pa gets close to winning another one

Oh it takes other stuff too but come on speed does kill and even if it didn't Penn State doesn't have the power to play the style they play and beat the top teams in the nation....if Penn State was in the SEC or Big 12 they would have struggled to be a .500 team.

I think the BCS got the national championship game right this year. I'm really not a big fan of the whole BCS thing and i really wish they would go to a playoff system but like I said I think they picked the right teams to face each other. Should be a great game both teams have allot of weapons on offense.

I don't buy into Penn State really, my thoughts on that 1-AA conference they play in have been clear for awhile, but .500 is probably a bit strong, they've got some players.

And USC's offense is kind of like Wlad's chin, overrated ( I'm running out of ideas), they don't score enough to blow out PSU, at least I don't think so.

You mean like a hard hitting secondary,great linebackers,a wall of an offensive line,and 2 of the last 4 best recruiting classes at WR

Hate to break it to you Lyle,except for that 1 point loss,PSU would be in the BCS game this year,because we've been nuking teams all year
A 31 point win against the same Oregon State team that beat USC
A 14 point win against Illinois
A 31 point win against Michigan State
A 41 point against Wisconsin
A 29 point win against Michigan
14 point win against Purdue
But please if USC wants to get cocky,by all means let them,I'll have a better New Years night if they do

Your listing all wins versus a sorry Big Ten conference. The one really good defense they faced was Ohio State who virtually shut them down. With that being said OumaFan is right, USC doesn't have the explosiveness on offense this year to put 40 down on Penn State though any other year they would. Still I wouldn't be surprised if USC"s defense outscored Penn State's offense and it definitely wouldn't go the other way around.

I'll be a prick and say there is no way Penn State wins.
