I think Bayless and Smoger should be the two superfight refs. They are the best IMO.

Bayless, Smoger and Weeks are all excellent choices IMO.

I don't mind having Cortez in there for the opening 4 rounders that aren't televised.

Cortez was on the undercard this weekend and I screamed at the TV saying, "THAT'S WERE YOU BELONG!"

Remember Ed O'neil,Ralph Condit,....pretty abrasive,intrusive refs.Joe Cortez acts like he is in a bad B-movie and someone has just yelled.."Action"...he gos into theatrics

I rank Bayless as the best current ref, with Smoger 2nd and Weeks a strong 3rd.

Bayless gets most of the top Vegas assignments (Oscar-Floyd, Pac-Marquez II, Cotto-Margarito, etc.).

Smoger is the top East Coast ref, I was surprised that he wasn't working Calzaghe-Jones.

Mercante Jr. also impressed me with how he handled Cotto-Judah.

Laurence Cole (Texas) is probably the worst big name ref, with Drakulich a close 2nd.
