I think a line can usually be drawn through admitting defeat and quitting. When I see Tyson quit because McBride wouldn't fall over as easily as he figured he would, and Golota quit because Tyson tagged him a few times, yeah I do get PO'd. I think every fighter owes the fans who pay the money a genuine, legit effort to win the fight and showing up to collect a paycheck cheats the fans.

However I don't mind when a guy gave it his all, was taking a beating and decided to save it for another day. I have no problem with Cotto quitting in the Marg fight, or Genaro Hernandez quitting on his stool against Mayweather, or Verno quitting against Williams, because Genaro and Verno were not in the fight and were just taking punishment, and Cotto had taken a ton of shots and was physically battered. Those guys gave it their all, came up short, so I see no shame in quitting.
