De la Hoya-Pacquiao rumour doing the round in britain at the moment

So the story goes Oscar was odds on to win the fight by almost every respectable bookmaker who believed he would be too big and strong for pacquiao.

Only on the night its reported that 1 hour before the fight skybet a major UK betting company slashed pacquiao`s odds down to a ridiculous 1/9 on and put de la hoya out to 12s somewhat giving the impression they had caught on to something that wasnt quite right in the de la hoya camp.

Im merely passing on this rumour that has been doing the rounds over here ever since the fight took place...

i use bet365 and Oscar was a clear fav but i didnt see the odds just before the fight

That's complete nonsense.

That type of price fluctuation would have affected the other bookies prices.. it didn't. For example - Pac returned 13/8 with Hills.. 15/8 with Ladbrokes.

Those prices would have only happened like that IN-RUNNING - by the gamblers on betfair after it become apparent Oscar was getting his arse kicked. That is perfectly normal.
