    1. That article is utter shite...

    2. Most Mexicans don't hate DLH

    3. The few that do is mostly due to him wooping JCC

For example I DISLIKE chavez ... Why? Because i wasn't born when Chavez was wooping ass, and got into boxing when DLH was comming up and became a huge fan of him. After his fight with Chavez, Chavez was very mad he lost to DLH that he started walking out with DLH opponents, he started talking bad about him. This IMO lead to some mexicans hatting DLH, and some younger guys like me disliking chavez. All and all i can't really hate the guy because he is mexican, and was a great champion but he needs to get over his damn lost to Oscar... i bet it still haunts him at night.

I know a few that hate him because they are huge Oscar fans. Don't get me wrong most love that guy but like i said a few. I would have to disagree with you btw.. I don't see prime Chavez, beating a prime DLH. Oscar was a great boxer like Medrick and we all know he has a hell of a chin so i don't see him being stop, nor being outbox. Remember a middle weight stop Oscar with a bodyshot so don't bring that up.

Prime JCC left hook to the body would crumple ODH like B Hop did, trust me.

    He beat JCC Superstar.
That's the first reason why I didn't like him. Also, it made me roll my eyes up every time HBO talked about him or commented during his fights. Making him sound as if he was perfect. So I just wanted to see him loose for those reasons and eventhough I didn't like him back then I felt he got robbed against Tito but still I enjoyed seeing him loose. After that, I was cool about him.
    He ran away from Tito
Not sure about this. I thought he did what he had to. It's like, say, a soccer team is winning and there are 5 minutes left and they decide to pass the ball around the field just to make time and walk away with their victory. Sure, they might get some boos but its not like they are doing something illegal. They are just being smart about the situation. ODLH gave Tito a boxing lesson throughout the fight and for the last 2 or 3 rounds decided to just glide his way to victory. Fans didn't like it and seems like the judges saw the fight through casual boxing fans' eyes. Roberto Alcazar told Oscar to do the right thing.
He got stopped by B Hop
Anybody can loose. I don't see why loosing to B Hop or anybody else would make someone dislike him.
    He robbed Strum
And got robbed against Mosley II. Some of those things just happen unfortunately.
    He disgraced himself against Pac
I wanted him to face someone else instead of Pac. I can imagine he picked Pac for all kinds of reasons that seemed to favor him and his plan ended up bitting his butt, totally backfired.
Young Mexicans hate JCC?? In his prime he would beat ODH bad
I know. There is some footage out there (I wonder if its on YouTube) of Chavez sparring with ODLH. I think it was just a exhibition thing and ODLH looked like he was punching a rock (Chavez). I have mixed feelings when boxing greats stay in the ring longer then they should only to make young prospects look "great" by loosing to them.
Prime JCC left hook to the body would crumple ODH like B Hop did, trust me
And JC Chavez had one of the greatest body punches out there. I remember how he connected that left hook to the body with finess wearing down his opponents and then knocking them out.
The few that do is mostly due to him wooping JCC
    PurtyBoy,
    Same here.

Fast hands and slick boxers and movement always bothered JCC. Whitaker made him look horrible and meldrick taylor beat him for almost the entire fight and those guys didn't have the power of oscar. due to oscar's last fights people have forgotten how good he was in his prime, when he was hungry.

    3. He beat Vargas after Vargas had been destroyed by Tito.
    4. He ran away from Tito like a cheap hooker from a slap-happy pimp.
    5. He got stopped by B Hop with a grazing body shot, after which he proceeded to pound the canvas with his fist in an amusing show of "frustration."
    6. He robbed Strum in the eyes of everyone but himself. Well... and blind DLH fans.
    7. He disgraced himself against Pac. (Ahh yes... nothing else need be added here.)
    8. (I added # Remember Vargas' famous quote before his fight with Tito: "THIS Mexican...won't run." This alone speaks as to how the average Mexican boxing fan did not appreciate how Oscar ran away from Tito in the last three rounds of the fight, regardless of the reason. A dislike that was obviously shared by the three judges judging the fight.

every great fighter's record can be picked apart like that. I can make a thread bashing the careers of tito, julio cesar chavez, roy jones, joe calzaghe, floyd mayweather but that is just something that haterz do.

Hey wow... hadn't seen a post from you in awhile. You don't get on much, do you. I remember when I first started on the forum. My first "sad-clicks" for Oscar-bashing were from you. At first I took it personally. Then I realized we're just fans of different fighters, and with VERY different opinions about the same facts. So yeah... I'm a hater, I guess. But usually I'm pretty detailed about my reasons. Maybe not 100% right about all of them, but very passionate about them. But as Yogi Berra would say... boxing is 90% facts and 90% opinions.
