Beanflicker - love that you brought of George Chuvalo. His story is pretty amazing. Sad, but amazing.

On an interesting personal note, a teacher of mine from my elementary school who helped me through some rough times, asked me not long ago if I would come and talk a bit about boxing and to some of the younger kids there struggling. Then in the same breath he asked what I knew of George and what I thought about him bringing him to the city if he is available for a talk. This was just a few weeks ago. I think it is pretty safe to guess my answer.

I'll post more about it when I find out more...but he is an idol of mine, and to be able to meet him would be hella amazing.

Good call on Foreman, SRL and Hagler, guys! And indeed, poor Tommy Hearns, he definatly came out on the worse end of the Fabulous Four

Ray Mancini is another one, he speaks the same now as he did back in the 80s, which is impressive given the wars he's been in.

    Mike Tyson

Although his use of large words seems to have been reduced.

Doesn't it just make you sick thinking of Wilfred Benitez?

Tyson's a really good one too. Especially near the end of his career he was taking huge shots. It was hard seeing what Lennox did to him.

I put Michael Spinks on the other thread about being in shape.....

Seems the only side affect is publicity shyness. He disappeared after the ko..........

Yeah he has an incredible story. The emotional and physical blows he's taken would have made anyone else crumble.
