I thought the general reason for 2 fighters to go at it a 2nd time is because the fight was either won by a controversial/suspect decision, was a close fight in general, or was just so f'ing exciting that fans could think of nothing better than to see another 12 rounds of the same...

Although I loved Pac destruction of Oscar, it was not suspect, nor controversial, nor close, and I would cringe at having to watch it again.. And the only exciting thing about it was Pac, and that part you can take and throw in the ring with someone else, without giving golden panties another hack job pay day to get his ass beat again...

I think Oscar and the potential trainer who is going to have a high paying job for a few months are the only ones that would want a rematch with Pac..

I'd rather watch forbes fight manny than see oscar get his ass whooped again. At least i'd be someone new and we could take the pre fight promises and trash talk somewhat serious.

Oscar is a sharp guy and id hate for him to keep on fighting past his prime
Finally someone understands what being passed his prime means. Yes, I would hate him to fight ANYBODY at this moment. That is something I just don't like. When a boxing great/legend stays in the ring longer than they should only to make others look great.
Both his defeats to Manny and Floyd Mayweather were clearly a consequence of having the wrong the trainers.
Good point. Never saw it that way. But his loss to Mayweather was nothing close to Pac's fight. Pac's loss was more than convincing compared to Mayweather's.
Manny Nacho clearly didn't communicate properly to Oscar that he needed to punch back.
Either that or Oscar simply doesn't have it anymore. Even when Mayweather Sr. trained him against Forbes, Oscar started to show signs that he was passed his prime.
When you factor in the trainer who told him to keep away from Trinidad the last 3 rounds which lost him that fight you have to feel sorry for Oscar.
I don't think that is the fault of the trainer. I mean, here we have Oscar dominating a fight and was told to glide his way to victory on the last 2 or 3 rounds. That is the smart thing to do just like the team that is winning and decides to pass the ball around on the last few minutes of the game. The judges were probably watching a fight in the crowd and not a fight in the ring when they gave away the victory to Tito.
Manny will beat oscar again and make him look like the biatch that he is

That's right. Any boxer that's not in his prime will look like a bitch against anybody. And then you have others that are in their prime and look like a bitch against someone else who happens to be in their prime as well. You get the idea.
Blaming his team is simply denying Pac's greatness!
DLH can call for a rematch but he won't win against Pac whoever is his trainer
Yeah, I don't see him winning against Pac or the guy that sells hotdogs at the arena. That is simply what happens when a boxer is not in his prime. Even Pac and his team knew well about this and talked about it in interviews, 24/7 show, etc.
what if they did have a rematch and oscar gets beaten up more badly then the first time. i wonder what the excuse would be?
Maybe he can ask Pac for permission to say that it was the socks that made him loose . Now I wonder if Pac lost again, what would his excuse be? At least ODLH gave Pac honorable credit and respect. Doesn't surprise me from ODLH. He has always shown class. Pac didn't when he lost, he blamed it on the socks. Go figure.
Now, can someone please post the link about all this? Or is this just another thread to throw crap at ODLH?

Like some have stated before. He could fight Sergio Mora and draw a decent size crowd in LA.

Oscar and Evander are my favorite fighter's. But for Oscar to keep blaming his trainers has to piss his fans off. It was Mayweather Sr 's fault that he didn't want the money to train him to fight his son. It's Freddie Roach's fault for coming up with the wrong gameplan. It's Berenstein and Zaragosa's fault that they overtrained him. Look in his old fight's with Alcazar and Clancy. They told me I had it in the bag after nine rounds with Tito. Stop blaming all of your trainer's you were in good shape and it was not the wrong gameplan. You got beat plan and simple. Except that Tito fight

Bilbo, you've got to be kidding me! Oscar's two losses to mayweather and manny clearly due to wrong trainer choice? Are you high? First of all Freddie roach is the best trainer out there! Roach totally got into oscar's head a few weeks ago. Roach and manny stood with the game plan and completly dominated DLH. The reason Oscar lost against floyd and manny is because they were just better. Oscar's always had trouble with speedy guys and those two were top notch. I have nothing against DLH, i like him and I think he's a great fighter, but it wouldnt matter if he had floyd mayweather senior, Angelo Dundee, Emmanuel steward, or freaking larry merchant, he wasnt gonna beat Manny if he had brass knuckles under his gloves. Oscar De La Hoya would not have ever beaten Manny even if you had them both in their primes. To say that the reason DLH lost was because of his trainer is the most idiotic statement i've ever heard! So you think that if Oscar had Floyd mayweather senior as his trainer he would beeen able to dodge that straight left hand huh? Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight!

It may be a different story at light middle . I think Oscar was so drained to make weight that he had nothing in the tank . Im surprised Pac didnt drop him . At light middle he may have abit more energy but he looked so shot in his last fight that I think hed be underdog.

Oscar has no real reason to fight on and a Pac rematch is now completely lacking in credibility. Oscar should stay on the sun bed and keep the tie around his neck. Its something he might be good at.

Oscar hasnt been particularly good for half a decade now, and he's getting slimmer pickings fighting ever smaller men. No reason to go on and getting completely silly.

I'd love to see him come back and beat Pac and then retire but I just don't think he's got anythig left.

Oscar De La Hoya would not have ever beaten Manny even if you had them both in their primes.
Not sure about this. Oscar faced guys that could hit and took care of business. Remember Ike Quartey? They exchanged punches throughout the fight and BOTH were KO punchers. Oscar threw punches in that fight, unlike with Pac where he hardly threw anything out there.
I can see many reasons why Oscar lost. First, Pac is a nice young fighter in his prime who has shown to get better and better. Oscar is not in his prime, he's drained, out of gas, old, worned out, etc. Loosing all that weight, etc. But saying it was because of his trainer, Iiiii dunno, that doesn't convince me as much as other reasons.
I think Oscar was so drained to make weight that he had nothing in the tank
He even weighted less than Pac on fight night. I thought he would be way heavier than Pac.
As for rematches, this is something that has not been heard from Oscar himself, its all speculation. But I am not sure if people want to pay to see a rematch for a fight that didn't look competitive at all.

Do you mind if I ask why? I am interested to know. It can give a very "deep" understanding, and sincere reasoning, as to why Pacquiao is undeserving to be the victor in his match against Oscar dela Hoya. Assuming that that is the reason for saying, "love to see him (ODLH) come back and beat Pac and then retire". It sure will help clear things, that are somewhat nagging!

I don't think Pac would take a second fight with Hoya in a million years.. I can't remember the last time someone took such a one sided beating like that for 8 rounds and there was a rematch... It would do nothing for Pac to take on Oscar again... Apart from $$$, but there are plenty of money fights out... And I believe Pac from here on in would rather earn half the pay packet to fight guys who are going to add to his legacy and belt title collection, than to his wallet taking an otherwise empty fight against DLH.

DLH has nothing to offer apart from money at this point... Even a Journeyman should think twice before getting in with Oscar... He doesn't have head movement or footwork these days.. His Jab doesn't snap or have any heat on it. He isn't prepared to take a single punch to throw a combo, he was pushed backwards for most of a fight against a small guy... After all the training he did for Pac, and what he actually brought to the ring, he's much better off using energy for his business ventures... He had an incredible career, and anyone that know anything will remember that..

Oscar said before the fight that he felt dizzy after training from the weight loss. But he didnt read the warning signs. If there is a return it has to be at lightmiddle
