Default Re: A 24/7 for Pac Hatton?

I really hope not. They have completely ruined the 24/7 now with the last two turkeys.

The first couple series with Floyd were excellent because both and and his family are incredibly good viewing entertainment and the behind the scenes training footage, and the voiceover man were all new.

Now we have seen behind the scenes so that stuff no longer has the appeal of making us feel like we are getting a rare look behind the curtain so to speak.

The voiceover guy has spoken in exactly the same way and the show has worked to exactly the same formula for all series so we are not witnessing any variety. We all know exactly how these shows are going to go.

And finally aside from Floyd none of the other fighters featured have been even remotely interesting, I mean just not even a little bit.

I only watched one episode of the De La Hoya Paquaio as I simply hate watching Oscar De La Hoya talk about himself, I actually want to cry with boredem.

Manny barely speaks English so what we actually get is Freddie Roach, who is ok but really I don't want to listen to him for 4 straight episodes.

Jones and Calzahge are just anonymous in terms of personalities outside of the ring whereas Hatton with his bad jokes and unfunny quips just grates me. He's basically the little fat kid at school who tried to make everyone laugh by doing impressions of the teachers and kids just laughed politely so he'd go away.

So I really hope we don't see a 24.7 for Hatton and Manny.

Just go back to the good old Countdown show, a nice one off 40 minute special that will get us plenty pumped for the fight.

Save the 24/7 for proper megafights featuring interesting opponents.

I don't want to see it at all now until Pacqiao Mayweather, that's the only fight that's worthy.

Also I'd rather see different fighters for a change and different weight classes.

One potentially interesting show would be a big heavyweight one with Vitali Klitschko against David Haye.

The heavyweight division certainly needs a publicity boost and this fight is no doubt a sexy fight in terms of glamour and action. Plus we have David Haye who for all his unlikeable cuntedness is most definitely a genuine personality and of course we Vitali who is hands down the most intimidating and genuine heavyweight out there. We have never had a chance to really get to know Vitali outside the ring and I also think HBO should give Haye the platform he craves and enough rope to hang himself with.

    So in summation.

24/7 for Pacquaio Mayweather as its the biggest fight in boxing
24/7 (although it wont happen probably won't be on HBO anyway, Showtime most likely) for Vitali Haye as its the literally biggest fight in boxing as it features the biggest weight class. We need to rebuild interest in the heavyweight scene and watching Vitali destroy the cocky, swaggering, glamour boy David Haye would help to do that for sure. Let's saviour that and give it the treatment it deserves.

As for Hatton Manny do you really want 4 episodes of Hatton telling us that he has tremendous respect for Manny Pacquaio and that he's a huge fan but that Ricky Hatton does not back down from any challenge and that's why the fans love me so much blah blah blah, followed by Freddie Roach boring us on Manny's behalf. Fuck no, please no!
