Not sure about this. Oscar faced guys that could hit and took care of business. Remember Ike Quartey? They exchanged punches throughout the fight and BOTH were KO punchers. Oscar threw punches in that fight, unlike with Pac where he hardly threw anything out there.Oscar De La Hoya would not have ever beaten Manny even if you had them both in their primes.
I can see many reasons why Oscar lost. First, Pac is a nice young fighter in his prime who has shown to get better and better. Oscar is not in his prime, he's drained, out of gas, old, worned out, etc. Loosing all that weight, etc. But saying it was because of his trainer, Iiiii dunno, that doesn't convince me as much as other reasons.
He even weighted less than Pac on fight night. I thought he would be way heavier than Pac.I think Oscar was so drained to make weight that he had nothing in the tank
As for rematches, this is something that has not been heard from Oscar himself, its all speculation. But I am not sure if people want to pay to see a rematch for a fight that didn't look competitive at all.
