I like plenty of boxer/punchers (Wlad, Vitali, Joe Louis, Hearns, Roy Jones Jr.) and brawlers (Rocky, Foreman, Hagler, Tyson, Joe Frazier, Tommy Morrison) and I also like a few slick pure boxers (Willie Pep, Pernell Whitaker)
I can appreciate most any style but it kind of depends on the attitude of the fighter and the style paired up....like Roberto Duran's style and attidue added up for me whereas Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s style and attitude don't mesh for me.

Im currently in love with Mads Larsen
After watching his last fight, its a shame he's getting up there in age, because I could point to that fight, and show it to my boxers and say,"Do you want to know what I want out of you? That right there."He does a couple of things I dont like, but overall, thats the style I teach.
Mike McCallum, he had a combination of styles. Guess all around fighter is the word.

Boxer Brawler.
Though I do like Punchers also. Punchers with a bit of speed and bit of boxing skill.
Overall, boxer-punchers (Holmes, Arguello, Hearns, Pavlik, Tszyu) and counterpunchers (Toney, Tarver, Mayweather when he's against people his own size) with pop are my favorites. Swarmers are fun if they use skill and smart aggression. I enjoy any style done well, but I'm least inclined to enjoy slick boxers who only pot-shot (Mayweather when he's in with a much bigger guy) and don't have killer instinct. I can appreciate them, but it's not my favorite to watch. I'm also not much for pure punchers who plod around waiting for one punch (except for Ding Ling Wilson. For some reason, I like the guy, even though he can be as boring watching paint dry sometimes.)

I don't really have a favorite but i do like watching a good jabber, like Ike Quartey, Larry Holmes. I never get tired of seeing them busting up there opponents with snappy left jabs just a thing of beauty IMO.

Any style works, as long as they are willing to trade to make a fight out of it. Too much of a "defense first" mentality is not attractive to my taste personally.
Augustus' style, I've seen it a few times. It is wacky, but it is totally without merit, I even enjoy it and find myself riled up when he gets a "bummed", more often than not. Can't blame those judges tho', Augustus style is so unconventional, "conventional" scoring methods don't apply. As we all know, judges do not push it and, think out of the box in these below premium matches.
I consider Augustus to be a cagey veteran kind of like a Freddie Pendleton or Saoul Mamby type, which is my favorite kind of fighter.

I am very familiar with the name Saoul Mamby, but for the life... can't put the right picture anymore man, aside from physical looks/attributes, (still got that) but fighting style, opponents... and too lazy to googs, right now.
Kindly refresh us with this guy, (if nobody minds be a bit off tangent here)
I know he is somewhat significant for I know the name recognition is for his acclaim and skill.
Age and info-overload through the years, makes way for my brain to perform automatic defrag. Somehow no longer carry fresh images, and to be refreshed will be much appreciated.
