I, for one, understand why Paulie talks so much...Boxing fans love it when boxers to play the role of the villain. Guys like Fernado Vargas, Ricardo Mayorga and Mike Tyson (post Douglas KO) had made careers of being the bad guy. It makes fans pay for a ppv fight that normally we would see on espn. On paper, no one in his or her right mind would pay money to see this fight. Paulie is a heavy underdog...basically because of his lack of opposition, power, talent, health(busted hands), heart, and any other category used to rate boxers. I seen Paulie fight a couple of times and he does have some hand speed, but nothing I would call blinding. Plus Cotto has faced boxers with good speed before and put most of them on the canvas, so it’s not going to be a surprise. The only thing Paulie has going for him is instinct ability talk up a s*** storm. Even though the fight has been weak in promotion...I think it will do well for two reasons. One, people will pay money to see Cotto fight, and two, people would pay money to see Paulie take the beating of his life. I hope Paulie the villain shows up and walks the walk during the fight, but I've heard boxers and analysis describe Cotto's left hook to the body as being the equivalent to being hit by a car. So I pray Paulie doesn't plan on walking outside on June 10th.
