Do you realize that MMA has been around alot longer than Queensbury rules boxing Its Orgins span across the globe from actual Combat roots from various counties for means of survival... Its the truest form of fighting there is, minus weapons...

These Disciplines of Martial Arts have been around for centuries... MMA isint going anywere dude.

Well it is the sport of stereotypes....middle class white guys with tribal tatoos who love GNC and have anger issues for no good reason...that describes the majority of fighters and fans of the "sport" known as Mixed Martial Arts.

I don't think this dude will be any different than anyone else switching between MMA and Boxing. Either way it shouldn't be done, boxers don't deal with kicking very well and MMA fighters can't punch worth a damn and their defense is horrible....just watch Chuck Lidell-Rampage Jackson II....Lidell drops his hand and BANG right cross and the Ice Man is ice cold...are you telling me a boxer wouldn't have done the same thing?

Defense is entirely different in MMA, if you hold your hands to high or get to preoccupied, you run the risk of getting taken down.. Boxing you are only concerned with punches from the waist up and from the front... MMA its free game... Also there are a lot of fighters emerging and being successful that dont fit that profile that you always allude to..

Below are some of the top fighters in MMA and consequently arent tattooed trailer park maniacs

Anderson Silva PFP#1 FIGHTER in combat sports(including Boxing)

    Georges St Pierre

    Fedor Emelianko

    BJ Penn

    Rashad Evans

    Forrest Griffin

    Mauricio Rua

Frank Mir... A few Tattoos(non tribal), but very gracious and articulate

    And many more

I venture to say, I see plenty of boxers who have shitty trailer park tattoos as well, with dickhead personas

Oh yes the defense is entirely different in MMA. When boxers fight in MMA they usually lose when they fight guys that kick as they aren't used to blocking kicks, see Ray Mercer.

Sure there are boxers who have bad attitudes and tribal tatoos but boxing isn't marketed 100% to and for a specific type of person like MMA is. Just watch the commercials when The Ultimate Fighter is on.....don't blame me for calling the sport out on it, blame Dana White he's done it to the sport.

I can't stand watching MMA and welcome any of those guys who want to come over to boxing with open arms..

I like boxing as science and art.. MMA is a controlled street fight.. There is nothing artful, scientific, or glorious about a street fight.. Not to me anyway..

To the pompous ego maniacs that love MMA, I guess it's a different story.. But give me a sub-par Cricket or Tennis match over an MMA Title fight any day of the week.

MMA, UFC etc are just passing fads like wrestling or even the XFL.

Outside of america and asia these types of sports have very little following and boxing is still and always will however bad it ever gets as the main true combat sport.

Cant seriously see 20 years from now the likes of muhammed ali, sugar ray leonard and lennox lewis being replaced by kimbo slice or brock lesnar (these 2 are the only UFC fighters i know of and thats only thanks to youtube)
    one dangerous horrible bloke

    Who is boxing marketed too?

What stereo type does a Ricky Hatton fan fit?

What stereo type does a Manny Pacquio fan fit?

    ODH?

What's the point of stating who a fight is marketed too? Most fights are marketed somehow. You act like that's the only people in the crowd at mma fights. I have seen just as many athletes and actors ringside for UFC fights as boxing matches.

UFC is marketed to a certain demographic, if you don't see it then I can't help you buddy...Dana White has done it, it's why UFC is a viable company, it's also why The Ultimate Fighter has the same types of people in it year after year

I didn't say I can't see it. I said what difference does it make? Fights are marketed to certain demographics. Bob Arum is constantly saying this fight is for "mexicans" or philipinos. A fighters fan base is usually a demographic, nationalistic is common in boxing. It just doesn't matter. It's not a reflection on the sport because of who it's marketed to, Spike tv is where most of the fights are televised and because it's a tv station targeted towards middleclass, middle age males, the sport of UFC is??

Soleo Boxeo was on a spanish station. Does that mean boxing is targeted 100% towards mexicans?

Over the years i've consistently heard you bag on UFC cause of the demographic of who watches it. Dude, let it go. Your so bitter about it. Makes me think you lost a girlfriend to an mma guy or something. You've had a few years for those wounds to heal......let it go man.
