This is so damn typical. I absolutely respect Palle for all the things he has done for Danish boxing through more than 50 years, but somehow problems always arise. Funkin BS. Really hope that this won't keep Kessler out of the ring for a prolonged period at least, especially since he is essentially in his prime.

The main issue here - in case people missed it - is that Palle almost always acts as both the fighter's promoter and as the fighter's manager. Which in reality means that the guy - the manager - who is supposed to look out for the fighter is not doing so at all, at the very least not in contractual issues related to promoter issues. If the Danish boxing commission wasn't run by muppets installed by Palle, they would have banned this practice years ago. [Also, regarding the subject of this thread, the really interesting thing, for us no directly involved, is not whether he gets a new manager, but whether he can get a new promoter]

FWIW the Palle camp came out today and said that the problems were exaggerated and that they only Kessler under contract for one more year. So I guess one year out is worst case scenario (alternatively, if he really wants out, he should fight three Hausslers in quick succession and be done with it).
