I'm a massive Ricky Hatton fan and I'm always behind him 100% and believe in his ability to be a consistant top level fighter. However I find it hard making a case to call him the best boxer in the world if he were to beat Pac. IMO, the P4P list is rated on the following 4 points:

    1. Who you've beaten
    2. What you've achieved (Titles)
    3. Being successful at numerous weightclasses
    4. All round boxing ability

There are a few fighters who would tick more of those boxes than Ricky to prevent him from ever becoming P4P I'm afraid.

If Hatton beats Packman, it will be another victory against a blown up lighter wht boxer, Hatton has only beaten men lighter than himself, and strugled, against some boxers, of his own wht class, i'm sure we all know, who they are without a mention from me, Hatton is a 10 stone boxer, a pound for pounder must be able to cover more than one wht, a PFP HE AINT.

He's only failed to beat one guy so far, I agree with most posters that a victory over Pac would only take him into the top 6, but to say that he's only beaten lighter guys than himself is clearly not true.

Or is Kostya Tszyu, arguably the best Light-Welterweight of all time (although I would rank both Pryor & JCC above him), nothing special? He certainly wasn't lighter having fought his entire pro career at 140. Same with Malignaggi & Urango. He has also won a world title at 147, even if he did look shit doin it.

Now I'm really not saying that he is P4P No.1 so I agree with you there, but to say he's only beaten lighter guys is clearly not true, although he still loses to Pac IMO. Also, I'm really not tryin to take the piss, and I know it's only a boxing forum, but try not using commas so often because it breaks up your sentences too much
