I think many people are taking the ODLH fight into consideration.
Oscar was SEVERELY weight drained. Heck he hasn't fought at that weight for 7 years and was 35 yrs old. Even little Stevie Forbes busted Oscar's face up a few months beforehand.
Ricky Hatton is completely different. Pac has NEVER faced pressure like Hatton will put him under. Malignaggi thought he could handle it. Hell loads on here were saying Malignaggi would beat Hatton because he's fast and slick. And look what happened. He got dominated and he crumbled.
Hatton will box smartly. Floyd Sr is going to get him great for this match. Hatton will also use his jab and go to the body. A weakness of Pac's.
Hatton's going to win...just you doubters watch!
Well panty waste tell me one thing I said that was wrong?
Did Pacquiao not keep his power when he fought DLH?
Is Manny not Faster then Hatton?
Has Freddy Not Proven time and again he comes up with terrific fight plans for Manny?
Does Manny not move around a lot more then Hatton over all?
Is Manny not considered the #1 P4P fighter in the world?
You are the biggest Joke to hit this forum since Charlie Zelenoff.....

[quote=hitmann;663910]I would typically agree, but I read a quote from Hatton that 6 lbs to rehydrate is his optimum target. But that would put him at 146/147 and I'm sure Pacquiao won't go any lighter than that. That said, I don't think Hatton will risk the size disadvantage so I think he'll pack a little more. but not so much that he risks any weakening from the dehydration which affects his stamina. You got to look at Malignaggi inability to hit Hatton with anything to affect Hatton and you know that ain't going to be the case with Pacquiao. It's just too much strain on the body using extremes to make weight by going more than 10 lbs in the 140 weight class. Especially against Pacquiao.
These guys at this elevated level of competition know the risks and advantages they gain from it. If Hatton comes is 152 for sure Pacquiao is going to take him out in the late rounds.

If it goes past five,I think Pac takes it just on work rate
Hatton will be on Manny's chest from the 1st bell, Hatton closes the distance probably better than anyone, and is very quick, he will rough pac up hit every part of his body and just plain bust him up...

I think that's true, apart from Hatton has a bit of trouble closing the distance as well on fast, sharp, straight punchers.. He is going to need to slip in better than he has against anyone or he'll have a hard left in his face and Manny out to his side before he has a chance.... If he can't get his face out the way on the way in, he'll need to take a lot to close that distance consistantly enough for it to really start overcoming Pac...
If he shows that skill then it will be one of the best Hattons we've seen and will deserve every ounce of respect for freshening himself enough to get around many of Pac's strengths.....
I really think at 140 Hatton is nearl unbeatable. Pacquiao is a freak, and a great fighter no doubt, but IMO, he lost both times to Juan Manuel Marquez. I also think the fight against DeLaHoya really only once again proves the adage that when a fighter talks about retiring, he already, in effect has.
I think Hatton wears him down in a classic brawl and finishes him in the later rounds.
Hatton, TKO9
For me pac stops hatton,
If hatton manages to box and get his shots off as cleanly as he did against paulie its an interesting fight and competitive, if he is hatton of old its a brutal white wash..
But lets not forget Malignaggi didnt let his hands go, he wouldnt throw more then two at anytime, which is paulies whole game.. you can look very good when you remain composed and unhit, paulie put three and four etc together once to my recollection in the entire fight and put Ricky off balance with it.
If anything Pac will be the true test of hattons newly re found sharpness cause pac is as fit as can be and pac doesnt let people dictate.. he doesnt like to get hit, and when he does get hit his style always seems to be that he answers back hard and fast, that with his recent improvement in defense, footwork and general ellusiveness, his natural footspeed bodes well for him to counter well when he answers hattons punches.
And plus, hate if you will but i dont think highly of hattons chin, i think hes going to get stopped mid to late.
But im looking for a classicly fast paced, entertaining fight.. with the difference in this fight and what makes it so entertaining bieng the footspeed,i think Pac has the edge on hand and footspeed but i admit hatton carries both bigtime as well, when he is in tip top shape, i.e in the early wbu title defenses (stewart, tackie, olivera, phillips, mcgee etc) he had before he seemed to step up and held/hugged stayed put alot more.. but the earlier fights had the stepping in and out, head movement, begin with slips, alot of jab work and stepping round to find the shots.. as we saw in part when he was full of energy in the opening round vs mayweather.
If they both go hard and are fit then it could be very entertaining.
