Unless they are being sent in barefoot they could take off their shoes and use them for boxing gloves.

I would suggest trying to gouge out the eyes. Once you've blinded it, than you can kill it.

I think another good idead would be to "circle the wagons" and not stand in a clump. They could try to climb the chainlink fence (if it exists) and attack from on high. Divebombers.
