Re: Could 40 midgets defeat a lion?
If the midgets actually killed 8 of each other first and then used the teeth and jawbones of the 8 dead midgets to dismember the rest of their bodies like so:
- behead all the dead midgets
- chop off all the arms and legs of the dead midgets.
They could then build a smallish wall, composed of the torsos of the dead midgets, behind which some of them could shelter from the lion (if they built it in the corner of the room, that would be better.
The heads should be kept inside or near the 'torso shelter', as they could be thrown at the lion whenever it came near them.
8 dead midgets makes 32 arms and legs, which is precisely enough to give each remaining midget a weapon.
Sheltering behind the torso castle which has been built, with a couple of midgets on guard with a pile of heads ready to throw, the remaining midgets would send out small battle groups one after the other in a strict rota(maybe about 6 at a time) all armed with a makeshift club made out of midget extremities.
Working to a shift patterm - with people taking it in terms to rest for 5 hours or so - the lion would be under a constant assault, soon exhausting it because lions are not built for stamina. Sure there would be casualties, and there is contingency for midget deaths built into my calculations - but the point is not to kill the lion, only to torment it and exhaust it.
Once it is completely knackered, it would be clubbed to death by a pack of howling, blood-soaked midgets using the severed limbs of their colleagues as weapons.
If God wanted us to be vegetarians, why are animals made of meat ?
