ANYONE could do this. Just get 12 pics of an attractive girl (easy from off the net), claim it's your g/f, rent a premium hotline number (not expensive really) and charge £1.50 for anyone who calls it to unlock the pics.
It's EASY MONEY!!!
She's not his girlfriend, it's just some crappy way to get people to pay £1.50 and give contact details that can then be sold to agencies for more dosh.
