A prime Ray Mercer could be merciless in the alley I suspect.

To be honest any pro boxer would be good to have in your corner. I work with an old welterweight called Steve Hogg he only ever won 3 but trust me he's in his 40s now but I'd pretty much put him against anyone on a street.

With respect, many boxers stay away from street fighters. They (SF's) fight differently and under a different mind set. They do things that boxers have never been trained to do--like grab or kick your cojones or rabbit punch or elbow you in the nose or head butt you intentionally. The boxer that backs one up better know what he is in for if the street fighter is expperienced, Point: having a boxer back you up in an alley is not a slam dunk for protection--unless it is the Beast from The East who would scare the crap out of any one.

    Great idea for a thread..

I would go with James Toney for sure.

How about Andre Berto's dad. I would say one look at him and you wouldn't have to fight at all. LOL

Larry Holmes he has a MMA backgroud i believe, and he looked pretty useful jumping over a car and drop kicking Trevor Berbick in a street fight.

I don't think Larry Holmes had a MMA background? I recall that he went pro quite young and was Ali's sparring partner for a while ....... he did look good drop-kicking Berbick, but I didn;t think MMA even existed back then in the West?

Well I've a read about a young George Foreman, and I mean young as in age 13 beating up trained streetfighters for money. Thats a full grown man getting battered off a child basically. Pro boxers are a different breed trust me!
