For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
I do think he has heavy hands no doubt but his power is a tad overrated IMO, Jesse Felicano was KO'ed in 4 rounds against light hitting Demetrius Hopkins. And he was also stopped in 1 round getting dropped 3 times against lighting hitting Mike Arnaoutis.
Yet Kermit Cintron never come close to putting Jesse Feliciano down, despite hitting him with everything but the kitchen sink. He also recently couldn't stop the smaller Lovemore N'dou, Lovemore N'dou is tough but you would expect he would of stopped the smaller Lovemore N'dou, who spent all his career below Welterweight.

I have not seen the Hopkins fight was it a clean KO?
The Arnoutis fight, Feliciano was definately not himself, I mean look at the shots landed by Tsurken and Cintron they were much stronger shots and better leverage.
Honestly Feliciano and N'Dou have some of the best whiskers in the biz.

I'm largely in sync with your thinking Killersheep, except your final prediction (and I admit I don't know much about Martinez except for his record and "big" win in his last fight (and Cintron is perceived as overhyped?). Let's remember that in the Feliciano fight, Kerm was on the canvas writhing in pain after the TKO-- claiming he fought 10 rounds having hurt his thunderous right in the first, if not first punch. Was the injury overstated? Perhaps, but perhaps it really was a gutsy/courageous peformance demonstrating once and for all that Kerm has "heart" in fights requiring gutchecks (against everyone not named Tony Margarito). And there are moments in the fights against Reid, Estrada and Suarez where Kerm didn't "wilt" either, and had ample opportunity to.
As for N'dou-- he's never been KOed. By anyone. (I don't think). Kerm goes the distance with him, doesn't get "frustrated" and fights a smart patient fight taking what's given him to get an easy "W". Granted, Martinez is a step up from NDou and a different style entirely-- but Martinez is no Margarito either. But it seems to me Kerm would have been damned by his detractors if he KO'ed N'Dou (only fights one way--landing the big bomb) and equally damned when doesn't get the KO (his power is overated-- that 85% KO rate is an illusion).

Great KO-- I'll just note that Kerm took out Matthysee 4 rounds earlier than Martinez' recent opponent. And is it just me or is Cintron's upper body just huge for 147 and the torque his punches can generate in this clip? Certaintly should have no problem keeping most of his power at 154. My question-- will the extra weight help him at all to absorb a withering body attack (see Margarito II) which Tony may have exposed as vulnerable. I don't think many would have been able to get up from that final perfect shot to the floating rib, but there were times during the fight in which Tony looked like he was close to breaking Kerm in two in terms of the punishment to the body he was giving.

Much better fight than Clottey vs. Cintron IMO.![]()

I think Martinez will TKO, Cintron.
I think Martinez will show a handful of you non-believers he's for real.
(Then again if he does beat Cintron, people will find a way to water that win down to a meaningless win)
Martinez has been polishing his skills I personally think the Santos fight would have been brilliant and a 60/40 chance favorite Santos to win it.
But the matchup would have been great. Fast hands, good power, southpaws, good skills, top shelf ring generalship.
I think Cintrons gonna be baffled by the speed of Martinez.
I see the TKO coming mid-way through the fight.

Frustration,Can see it.If he gos in looking for a bomb instead of boxing...(Feliciano fight) what Manny would try to get into his head....his wanning confidence may resurface.I do think Martinez needs to not be so loosey goose and sit down on power shots with Cintron.
