Barrera - He's one of my all time favorites.![]()
I want Barrera to knock Khan out. Barrera has everything againsed him and just the thought of Khan having a win over Barrera on his resume is just all wrong.
Got to be MAB for me like some one else said it dont sit right for him to lose to Khan.
Khan will not know where the punches are coming from its not like MAB performed like ODH when he lost to PAC i think a 60% Barrera will beat Khan![]()
I'd like to see Kahn win back some critics from this one.
Although, I've seen alot of opinions giving Kahn no chance atall on this one i have to disagree. This fight, on the surface, a true legend fighting Kahn, seems a no brainer, that Kahn will not last, but once you get past the idea of a legend and look at the two of them i can't help but think that this is another miss-match. A slower, older, barrera with added weight vs the much bigger, and not only that, much much faster, slicker and more powerful Kahn. I just wish they'd put Kahn in with some true Lightweights, why is it always a blown up Lighweight.
I see this as Barrera fighting to the bitter end like the true warrior that he is and not letting Kahn off lightly, but ultimately Kahn will have too much youth, speed and power.
Sadly, because he's one of my favourites, I see Barrera to retire on his stool before the final round.........
I want MAB to win.
I want to see Barrera being a little more willing to let his hands go than he did against Pac. If he can check Khan's chin there is a good chance he is going down. But what the previous poster said is true, Khan is bigger, has faster handspeed, footwork and the longer reach. Barrera is a canny old pro though, and Khan doesnt have much experience against top level fighters.
If Barrera is willing to take a few risks in the trades, I can't see khan getting the better of him.
But Barrera is getting on, and the Pac fight was disheartening. Barrera won a few rounds there but wouldnt take any risks to try and win the fight. If he isnt going to take risks against Khan then Khan has a chance at getting the decision. Barrera must let the hands go more.
I think people are overblowing how 'shot' Barrera is.
This is a man who pushed J M Marquez all the way jus 3 fights ago and got a knockdown that wasn't credited. That was a very very close fight and the judges got the margin of victory for Marquez way wrong.
Then he went 12 rounds with the best fighter in the world and got an easy 4th round KO in his last fight.
I don't see how losing two decisons against arguably the number 1 and number 2 p4p fighters on the planet makes him 'shot'
Passed his best maybe, but he's still a force to be reckoned with and it would be a HUGE victory for Khan if he pulls it off.
The kid gets so much criticism but he's only 21 and is already facing a legend like Barrera, and so soon after getting brutally KO'd.
You have to admire him, the lad has some balls on him.
I still maintain that had the KD been scored, then that was a clear Barrera win. Even without the KD Barrera was right there with Marquez. The Pac fight was disappointing because it really seemed that Pac was not quite at his best and that there were opportunities there if Barrera had pushed that bit more.
It is a huge risk for Khan, and Im still a little surprised he's stepped up to this so soon. His career will look all Audley Harrison-esque if Barrera stops him...as he very well may do.
Very true.
There's a world of difference between a "shot" fighter and one that's past their best.
Barrera hasn't been getting outclassed or battered. He's just old.
Even with the natural size disadvantage, if he turns up to win he's the favourite without doubt. Not sure what his motivation is though.. obviously getting a tidy payday.![]()
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
Im going with Barrera, always been a fan.
Don't think he's as shot as everyones making out, can see him sparking Khan early in the fight.
