as a Berto fan, i scored it 114-113 for Collazo..

I felt Berto could have won the fight almost easy if he stuck to his strengths and did not fight on the inside.. He made a LOT of mistakes, and was very sloppy compared to his usual technically sound self.. He looked out of gas VERY early in the fight, and while Collazo, even though they were not power punches, was piling up the punches, Berto was barely responding and looked very sluggish.

As much as i wanted Berto to win, i had no issue giving Collazo the fight simply because if Berto lost and watched the tape, he'd ask for a rematch INSTANTLY because his flaws were very visible..
There was one round in particular, maybe 6 (one of the middle rounds anyways)? That I really felt could've gone either way which I scored for Berto, giving him the win. Collazo could just have easily won that round though, making it even in rounds, but giving him the win because of the deduction. I was cheering for Collazo.

I really think in the rematch, should it take place, Berto is going to stay more to the outside and box his way to a UD in a much less exciting fight than the one we just saw.

The 1st and 6th rounds were incredibly even.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

I scored 1 and 6 for Collazo, but they were very close rounds. I also had round 5 for Berto and that was a close round also. Rounds 1 and 6 were the biggest swing rounds. All the judges must had had those for Berto to make their scores.

Berto has to get credit for coming back after Collazo started to take command of the fight in rounds 3 and 4. Even had Collazo gotten the decision, this fight proved a lot to me about Andre Berto. A lot of fighters fold the first time they get pushed like that but Berto overcame it. This should serve him well in the long term.

114-113 to Collazo courtesy of the dubious point deduction.

I feel the fight was deserving of draw status and I hope a rematch is made. Shame 1 of the judges couldnt have scored it 114-113 to Collazo to make it a split and cast more doubt over the outcome to make the rematch happen.

Regarding the 'swing rounds' I scored rounds 1 and 6 to Collazo.

My scorecard was identical to Lederman's bar the schizoid embolism he had when he awarded round 7 to Collazo.
