Yeah I have to say that I am gaining a lot of respect for this guy, I mean to turn Mosley round from how faded & slow he looked against Mayorga to last night's performance. I mean I know obviously Shane deserves a lot of the credit, but this he seems to really know what he's doing.
I remember Hopkins was on a boxing show we have every week over in the UK, & he was saying that Brother Nazim was a major factor in getting him sorted for the win because he's such a good tactical trainer. He was saying that if had of been in charge of his corner against Calzaghe (he was apparently seriously ill in the months before the fight) then he would have won convincingly because Roach isn't as good at changing tactics during the fight.
Nazim Richardson one-one-one interview
after i saw this i knew that shane was gonna win
imo the best trainer in the world
Nazim has to be one of the best trainers in boxing if not THE best.
Fukk it he is the best trainer.![]()
Nazim deserves a lot of credit. I can't remember the last time Shane jabbed that well. He was more elusive, and more savy. Notice the almost Hopkins like way he would clinch sometimes, then other times bait Tony into trying to stop the clinch, push him off and throw a combo? Smart stuff. This has nothing to do with Richardson, but I loved how Mosley saved that huge left hook for the coup-de-grace. Jabs, right, and lighter left hooks all night, then, smack, he snaps off the same punch he used to finish off Mayorga...sweet.
I can't say that Nazim is better than Roach, but right now Richardson, Roach, and Stewart are the best. I would love to see Pavlik bring in Nazim to help him mix up his game.
And don't forget to credit Nazim for gameplanning Margarito's ultimate strategy...the plaster in the handwraps. Nazim is the one who noticed something fishy with the way they were wrapping Margarito's hands.
