If you mean "modern day" I would say they came from Italy, in the late 15th century.

Got to go with cgm if you mean modern day, or maybe its a trick question they came from venice since in the 15th century italy wasn't italy.The vikings also showed up in the early 1000's but left no lasting influence, perhaps you meant native americans whom I think came ffrom asia some 20000 years ago over the land bridge that had formed out of ice between alaska and asia.

OK, it is not modern day then. Theory goes the first Americans crossed the Bering Straight from Siberia, when there was a land bridge. Don't recall exactly when that was, maybe 30,00 years ago.
