This is one of the problems with boxing. Refs perform horribly and still get big time fights. Instead of punishing the guy he is rewarded with another nationally televised fight. Other sports have enough sense to evaluate their refs and only award the big time games to good officials and criticize or even suspend refs who make terrible decisions.

I'm not saying if a ref isn't perfect he should be fired, but maybe he should have some time to relearn the basics of his job...referring the undercard. Then reevaluate him and if he is doing a good job then he can come back to reffing big time fights.

The same thing can be said for judges. If the only way they could have come up with the scoring for a fight, is if they filled out their scorecard from home and brought it with them, then they shouldn't be judging Cotto vs. Margarito they should be judging two fighters making their pro debut until they prove competant enough to be allowed to take on a center stage fight.
