People have been doing it in other weight divisions look at Miguel Cotto, Pacquiao, JMM, Margarito, Wladimir Klitschko(besides his brother who is he not willing to face?), Jermain Taylor, Wright, Hopkins, Pavlik, Juan Diaz, Casamayor, etc.

So many guys have been fighting whoever is out there, isn't it time for these 4 to step it up? Juan Manuel Lopez is 25 now, and really should be pushing with all his might for a fight with Marquez or Vazquez. Caballero should be pushing for whichever one as well.

What I don't want is Marquez and Vazquez to fight a fourth time, and have nothing left to fight Lopez or Caballero. If they are as good as they are ranked, and as good as they look in the ring then they should fight Lopez and Caballero just to get new blood into the ring against them.

Wladmir Klitschko's opposition is his weakpoint, he wants tough fights and can't get them!

Jermain Taylor as Champ fought Cory Spinks and Kssim Ouma as rest fights.

Pavlik has boxed Lockett and faces Rubio next. Neither elite.


Pacquiao, Hopkins and JMM are all chasing titles, if they win they will take rest fights.

The difference between SBW and rthe other weights is that there is ferocious competition within the top ten.
Guys like Marquez, Larios, Molitor, Gonzalez are all extremely hard, dangerous fighters.
There are no routine defenses at Super bantam, each fight is a superfight outside of status.

Marquez and Vazquez are supposed to fight eachother next. I am just saying technically them fighting eachother should be more difficult than them facing JML or Caballero based on the p4p ranking system. I want them to face these two before they fight eachother again. They are begining to hold of the division. When Barrera-Morales or Ali-Frazier had their trilogies they didn't hold up the whole division. If Rafael or Israel want to take a rest and fight weak opposition thats fine, but the want to go into war, let someone else get a chance. Israel and Vazquez haven't fought since March, that is plenty of time to recover from anything that isn't permanent. They are going to be as fresh as they will ever be. Nobody would know who Pacquiao was if he got shafted like this.

Cotto fought Gomez only because a matchup between him and Clottey didn't pan out.

Wright only had Soliman as a weak fight inbetween Trinidad, Quartey, Taylor, Hopkins.

Hopkins has just foughten Taylorx2, Tarver, Wright, Calzaghe, Pavli, when is he going to take a break?
Pacquiao hasn't foughten weak opposition in almost forever even "Break" fighters are against guys like Jorge Solis who in almost any division would be considered one of the top fighters.

Well, I’m with Taeth here, I mean how many times we saw great fighters, champions or even #1 P4P ducking or avoiding other top class opponents. How many of us wouldn’t have wanted to see PBF vs. Cotto for example? Me also I would prefer to see Izzy fighting Caballero or Rafael vs. JML than Marquez – Vazquez 4 even though the third was tremendous. This is one of the few advantages (or perhaps the only one) of the amateur boxing over pro: if you want a title you can’t avoid or duck anybody.

I am not even sure I would say they are ducking other guys, because to go up against eachother is not for the faint of heart. They know what the other guy can do, and its not something I think anyone relishes. Also I want to make it clear that I am also not saying that Marquez-Vazquez 4 should never happen, I am just saying they are the only two guys that Caballero and Juan Manuel Lopez can really test themselves against besides eachother, and I think its time especially in this relatively deep division for the champs to spread the wealth and prosperity to the rest.
