I am a Dental Lab Technician. I play with plaster all day long. Plaster breaks easy unless the stone is super thick. Plaster of paris comes in powder form and is mixed with water. takes about 45 minutes for plaster to set. takes 24hours to set to it maximum strength. Once plaster is set it becomes hard. However if exposed to a moist environment it will weaken and crumbles easy. That is why doctors tell the patients to not wet the cast. Now in order for Margo to use plaster in the gloves mixed with gauze, it has to be thick like more than 1/2 inch in thickness and keep it dry. No plaster used, take my word, read my lips.

Ok you are all wonderful with your comments. It was something they used but plaster is impossible. I am telling man, plaster is not like fiberglass that you can layer very thin and still make it strong.


One article said the gauze was scratched and flakes came off it.

If wet plaster was indeed used, his trainer is an idiot. Wet plaster is not going to harden over 20 minutes inside of boxing gloves. Not only would it not have dried inside the glove, but as it was attempting to dry and set, every punch Tony threw would have cracked the still soft plaster. I've never experimented with loaded gloves... but summer after summer working on houses with my dad did teach me the in's and out's of plaster. No way could wet plaster have set inside gloves during the duration of a boxing match.... Over night with absolutely no sweat coming through the wraps... maybe.
