My opinion is that Merchant and Kellerman are good announcers.

Has it been documented that Merchant is drunk during the show? I've always suspected that he has a glass of bourbon on hand during the fights that sits outside the view of the camera.

I was watching one of my career sets, I think it was a Lennox Lewis fight not too sure, but he was stood there rocking back and forth while Jim was talking with a big grin on his face. He was obviously pissed as a fart. Gotta love Merchant.

Get rid of the entire crew. Can't stand the whining Max and Lampley, the corpse-like Steward, or the fossile Merchant, Emanuel gets paid around a million and can't even speak proper English. I can tolerate LL, however. Larry talks as if he has verbal constipation---just too slow and difficult for him to get it all out.

Kellerman is about as annoying as they come not in how he calls a fight but in the manner he always opts to side with the american fighter unlike the rest of the team.

I could genuinely of closed my eyes during calzaghe-jones jr and invisiged jones Jr winning round after round even when he was getting battered just because of the whining kellerman did in his favour, similar thing when ricky fought malignaggi he was genuinely attempting to get across that it was a close fight when it was a one sided beatdown.

And the pure cheek of telling calzaghe afterwards that 17 years, endless world titles, having never been beaten meant nothing unless he fought CHAD DAWSON

Have to say I dont mind crotchity ol' Merchant nearly as much as rah-rah Company tottie Jim 'phantom punches' Lampley.The man can not get over himself,yells too much,constantly interupts his partners...."BIIIIG RIGHT HAND"... blah,blah invent words,brown nose the HBO fighter, etc

So that said I can't be a great judge of each sportscaster.

Which one is the one that scores the fight? Who is the one that commentates on the majority of the fight? I know who Merchant and Steward is...

Kellerman is the fresh face kid who looks like his suits are 2 sizes two big and with the humongous eyes....stammering through interviews.Count on him slipping in at least one Pernell Whitaker mention a card...regardless of whos fighting Once in a blue moon he and Lennox Lewis get into tiffs.

I don't get all the Kellerman hate. I thought he struggled when he first joined HBO, but he improved a ton recently. I think he's done a solid job over the past several months.

This is hilarious... Kellerman didn't even work the Hatton-Malignaggi fight, Merchant was with Lampley for that one.
