NSAC Comments on Vaseline Controversy
So apparently NSAC admits SOMETHING happened, but not what exactly or to what extent. Penn hasn't filed the complaint yet. Either way, let it slide man....you lost. Train harder next time and earn a rematch.

Boxing is like a handjob, and MMA is like a hot sweaty orgy with 5 chicks. I could never say no to a handjob, but which would you rather have?

I agree. For a fighter of GSP's caliber..no need to cheat. Sad thing is if it really did happened his corner may may have denied us to witness a classic and a much more competitive fight. BJ Penn is a worldclass BJJ practitioner for fukk's sake! the way GSP passed his guard..is just unheard of. Joe Rogan mentioned during the 2nd round that it's already tough for BJ to control GSP because he seems so slick and sweaty but who would have taught it's because of fukkin vaseline. You GSP fans know it ain't fair. If that was Thiago Alves under him it shouldn't matter significantly. Because he's a fukkin striker and is crap on his back.but BJ Penn..he is a friggin BJJ blackbelter!

A couple of thoughts:
1.) In the first fight, BJ had much success in locking in those triangle locks from the bottom. They are huge part of what he does as a great ground fighter.
2.) GSP's corner men should all be fired. It would appear that St. Pierre could have won this fight regardless. But to have cornermen that do not know the rules 100% is grounds for immediate termination IMO.
3.) We may never know if perhaps BJ could have turned this fight into a fight if the vaseline wasn't hendering him.
It is for thougth #3 that I also think a rematch is in order...anyone heard anything about this situation of late?

I understand the impact of vaseline but I think that GSP has evolved a lot since the first fight, Greg Jackson had a great gameplan and GSP is just too athletic for BJ. I highly doubt a rematch will turn out any different.

I think most can admit that the result of that fight (being lopsided) was a shock to most. BJ (for all intensive purposes) beat GSP in their first fight. (split decision) It seemed that George was too hell bent to lose on that day and if I were a betting man I'd probably say he could not have lost that day.
BUT! Cheating is cheating no matter how you arrive at it. I believe GSP didn't have anything to do with it going down the way it did. Hence my suggestion to fire his corner staff. It is reprehensible for his corner to not know the rules - period.
You never know though - BJ hooks in one of those triangles and winds GSP a little and lands a few shots of his own in the process and the tide may have turned. Anything is possible.
