Well if Williams is able to keep his punch output up then he's got a shot....I don't fancy Winky's chances in this one to be totally honest

I think this is one that williams will win. Wright was great but ring rust, the loss to Hopkins, a mind set that I am not sure I understand (not pursueing a rematch with Taylor and instead taking on Hopkins) and age I think will finally catch up with him in this fight. Williams by KO.

If Winky was fighting Pavlik I would like his chances better because Pavlik is one punch at a time, easy to time, easy to counter....meanwhile Williams is an output puncher, he's going to win rounds just on shear numbers of punches thrown. Unless Winky is able to hurt Williams or totally throw his game off he's not going to win.

Plus Williams is also a southpaw and I'm thinking that will affect Winky more than Williams

Haha! Oh c'mon! No big name fighters will ever fight him? He will hardly know the difference. Way too grave. Williams is a big draw win/lose/draw against Winky. This fight is way more important to Winky imo. He only has a couple fights left in him. And Williams, the spring chicken he is, will box him and win rounds on handily activity. He may not be able to get a lot through, but surely enough activity to see a UD.

People act so serious about a fighter losing ONE fight. I mean it has held back fighters in the past, but usually it's when they get exposed (a la Mosley Marg).

JONNY/JT! I didn't mean that he would disappear from the face of the boxing world if he lost. I meant it more along the lines of people already being afraid to fight him can say "he lost to a old Winky" as scapegoat to not fight him.

It's hard to explain but it sounds right in my head...

Margarito, barring suspension, will still be in line to fight Cotto in June. Abraham still wants Pavlik. Kessler has spoken of wanting to fight Pavlik.

And if Williams loses to Winky, like I said, more people will line up to fight him because he will appear beatable.

I agree with someone else who said this fight was bigger for Winky. For Winky, it is a crossroads fight. A weak showing will take him out of the picture, a strong showing will make him a contender.
I never thought of it the other way around...Nice one!

Up in the air on this one.I cannot get past the layoff and idle time with Wright.Don't like him just walking back in without a tune up.He definatly has been walking in and trying to bang it out, even more so,as of late.Heck of an very volume friendly fighter riding a huge boost of momentum to come back against in Williams.Would like to think Williams will fight his height and frame but has shown few signs of doing so,save for early rounds with Margarito.Williams defense nothing spectacular and if...IF...Wright can rekindle that sharp active jab after layoff,it could stifle a bit of Williams guarenteed on coming southpaw volume.Leaning towards Williams....by a hair.

Paul Williams isn't any Hopkins and Winky didn't look bad at all considering the fould and bad cut. Yeah its a lay off, but it won't be as bad for winky as some think. Hell Quintana was what this guy had problems with. Winky will be big, he will look pretty sharp. He will outbox this Williams until the cows come home. The best win Williams has is over Margarito. A guy that Mosely just school. While that isn't exactly boxing logic, anytime you count Ronald out it bites you in the ass.

I did until I saw it was at middleweight. I bet Winky has problems making that weight again, he just fought 170. That was what over a year ago? This is a real fight, too close to call IMO.
