There is one problem with the way you have used the phrase in the mean time. It may be true to a certain extent but...If you are just taking a grunt job that you are way overqualified for, then the employer knows that you are only there until you find something better, and is likely to bump you to the bottom of the list because of that. I mean, why bother hiring and training someone who you know is gonna catch the first plane outta here?
That a fair point. But I would imagine the lowest jobs have a high turnover rate anyway. A supermarket, for example, would most likely be happy with what they can get. Nobody plans on waiting tables as a long term career choice. And the way things seem that high level job isnt going to come around too quickly anyway. But I see completely where you are coming from though.
Yeah regarding a supermarket you are probably right, but my point isn't about whether any jobs are available to Von but more whether it's any of our fucking business.

I just don't like it when any posters start to get on their moral high horse and lecturing others on their personal lives. I didn't like it when it happened to ICB and Donny either when some people questioned how they were going to pay for their kids and whether they were going to request state help.

It's just insulting to and rude and judge people that we don't even know.

I'm all for having a laugh and taking the piss out of each other, lord knows I do plenty of that, but personal attacks about serious things shouldn't have a place on the forum imo.

    Anyway that's my two cents.

We shouldn't talk about the real world here. Unless Mick is telling us he banged a teacher or OumaFan is talking about some encounter at a supermarket. Or if I'm posting.

    Hahaha

Yes I am. To be honest I'm having a hard time even remembering that I'm posting on here right now, in fact just now I did again. My attention span is shorter than, well, you.

I rolled a blunt thinking I was going to have a great time watching the Mack-Henry fight but I smoked it way to early and now I think I'm going to fall asleep before the fight even starts

Hey you edited that right? It doesn't say you edited it.

Anyways, yeah it's pretty thick stuff. I stuck in my wooden paddle/spoon and began to stir around and it ended up splintering the wooden spoon. Right in the middle, where the sands would fall were it an hourglass and not a wooden paddle/spoon.

Nope if I would have edited it would have said edited by Bilbo right?

Yeah I too have tried to sample the true extent of the thickness and its often a thickness that I cannot truly comprehend. It feels alien to me and reminds me that the world is not as I soley see it and that sometimes the measurments are staggering, but that even then, they are just normality to some.

He's an idiot. Like an idiot, apparently he's Steve Lott's friend which only makes me think less of Steve Lott. He just said Cory Spinks bullied Jermain Taylor around. Unbelievable.

Preme would say the same sort of shit but then get in that people who wern't working could only afford to stand in the back seats and keep their ticket stub as a souvenier whilst thanks to his healthy bank balance and national average wage he could sit in a middle row and afford to buy the official fight program.

I think if people are sometimes going to post personal stuff then they should be prepared for whatever direction the responses might take. Its just the nature of a public forum.

However, in this thread I was out of turn. And I hold my hands up and admit it. Not big or clever, and not how I would carry myself normally.

I should stay away from this shit.

yeah, you're right about that. that's why I did post my resume... so I could challenge you to re-write it. How's that going? joke.

But anyway, I appreciated your private comments. As far as the comments you made on here, well, again, sorry bud but all I can say is you're not at that point in life yet. You're 28 and not even finished school. By 28 I had already been through grad school and was out in the working world for three years, and living on my own in a foreign country. I'll bet you still live with your parents. I'm not trying to be a dick, but your comments were very naive. 600,000 people were laid off in the US in January alone. One family in the US committed murder suicide... them and their 5 kids. That's how desperate the situation is. Even the British PM has said this is a global depression.

But anyway, fuck it. Cheers. Hope you never look at the same job markets I am.

No, I am not at that point in life yet. And yes, my comments were rash.

I am 28, but I dont live with my parents. In fact, I havent lived in my home country for over 6 years now. I left for the wide world as a nipper. And as for grad school, yes, I am still studying. But have been doing that over distance whilst also trying to balance a heavy work load and thats almost accomplished. Admittedly I havent bothered to work hard for money in recent months though.

Anyway, Im not looking for a debate about any of that. Just defending myself against a few of your points. You are right that the economic situation sucks. Especially the US one, its getting worse every day. And its not going to get better soon. I should have shown more sensitivity to your situation, and instead went off on one with no real justification. Im not proud of having done so, as I said.

The industry I am in can get more picky as we get more mature, just like many others. So, I may well have similar difficulties down the road. I hope not, but there you go. Anyway, I hope all is cool, and I will definitely learn from this little episode. Cheers.
