Yeah, I'll second what Dark Lord Al says. Nice job.

I have no real problem with calling Hagler the best middleweight. He was a very intimidating looking fellow in the ring. I was very pissed off that he didn't get a rematch against Leonard, casuse he certainly earned one, that's for sure.

Hagler was a religuous man. He always used to thank The Lord each fight for giving him the strength and courage to face his opponent. In some ways there is a certain irony than a man who had such faith could show such ferocity inside the ring.

Excellent post, even if I'm quite split between him & Hopkins on the best MW of all time, but its very well reasoned & a good read.

Agree, too close for me to choose but I say Hopkins is the Greatest MW ever but Hagler can be considered as well.

That really would have been a great fight, one of them would have had to stop trying to outclever the other and really let it go.
As much as Im a fan of Hopkins,I think Hagler would have let his hands go first.
Neither one of them would have gone down, but I think Hagler's early work would have taken it.

It's also a certainty that whoever lost would bitch about the decision for the next 30 years or so too
