Again JT, exactly what I thought.
Hate to say the irony of it, but the losing dogs seldom survive these fights especially with their throats ripped out.. Shooting the dog was the humane thing to do despite the inhumane situation Gerald put them in.. It sucks real bad, Im not endorsing dogfighting and I think its wrong, but like Donny had said it is part of certain cultures and I'm not to sure that you guys would find it as appalling as you do now, if it was a product of your environment and culture growing up.

Its exploiting that breed and its loyalty and need to please, couple that with its natural strength and you have a killer...

Stop eating beef then too, cows are led down corales end at the end Whacked over the head with a sledge hammer and slaughtered and dismembered while still alive... Put down that burger then, skip the porterhouse and the filet...

    Certain Cultures....

    The travellers here in Ireland.
They're different, genetically different, culturally....like a different race.
They have their bare knuckle boxing tournaments here, some of them savage.
They fight their dogs at the same time, do a lot of coursing too, things like that.

I don't agree with it or like it, but its the way they are and they would raise hell if anyone tried to take it away from them

    Thanks JT.

Yeah I think they're two parts of a different jigsaw.

I really think Gerald was a very troubleed young man.

I've heard first hand from a guy that trained with Lee in Kronk, that Gerald used to envision his father standing across the ring every time he fought.

This was confirmed in, if not this book another book addressing the subject.

I see what you two (Don, JT) are saying.

Maybe his cousin was showing the extremes in his character or something? He initially seemed upset the dog took a hiding but then that turned into like a ruthless streak.
