The story of the Alexandria Lighthouse is particularly interesting. Built around 300 BC, it was the tallest man-made structure in the world for many centuries, at over 115 metres. Eventually it was destroyed by earthquake.

Hint: The two remaining wonders were structures built by amcient Greeks in what is now present day Turkey, one around 550 B.C., the other around 350 B.C.

The Tower of Babel, I believe that was the structure that was built on the instruction of God by representatives of all the peoples of the earth, that stretched all the way to heaven? Hell yeah, that should be on the list.
