    Kinda reminds me of when Castillo faile to make weight vs. Corrales and then in Corrales next fight he comes in heavy. It is bad when these things happen. Nate has took a lot of pride in being lightweight champion and im surprised by this, but its clear that with his age and recent inactivity, he needs to go up to light welterweight. It sucks thought cause his titles were all the leverage he had to make a big fight as he was the lightweight king imo. Maybe if he beats Funeka, then hell still be able to put something toghether. This is a bad night for Nate Campbell though.

    yea man exactly what i had in mind too, just like chico.

    I've been trying to hype up Ali cause i think he has a big chance of beating nate but now its ruin because nate comes in heavy. Whoever wins does not get that much credit because of this situation plus no title.

    people will say;

    if nate wins, because he came heavy.

    if ali wins, because nate was drain.

    fuck. so dissapointing.

    I think Nate will lose this fight. But After this fight... there's one more fight with nate win or lose. A rematch with Guzman.. this time no weight Limit. Winner keeps on fighting, the loser will retire for good!

    The fact that he came in at 138 and weighed back in 2 hours later only a half a pound less, basically means that he must have made a conscious decision not to attepmt to make the weight and be weight drained after the first attempt. He must have felt that if he vacates the titles and he doesnt kill himself to lose 3 pounds he'll be strong and win tommorow. If he killed himself those two hours and dehydrated himself, he could be at great risk of losing the fight and completely ending his career. This way, hell be strong as ever and still likely win and hope to salvage his reputation. From a business standpoint, it makes sence. But Ali got the bad end of the deal because hes basically fighting a light welterweight.

    A guy like Campbell needs the belts. It's the biggest bargaining chips he has. Or had. Without them his money value drops. Dramatically. He's not even the Ring champion. Campbell has pretty much removed himself from the Lightweight picture.

    TBH though I think its better he doesn't weight drain himself too much to make the weight & then we the fans don't get to see him fight because he's not physically able to. I think if he was trying to cut the pounds & realized he couldn't than its better that he doesn't do himself harm & we lose a fight because of it. Also as he was in negotiations with Hatton prior to the Pacquiao fight being made, I think he will be able to get a fight against one of the belt-holders at 140. Yesterday he was saying that he planned to move up to light-welter after this fight. Its not the same as Guzman not making the weight because he was coming up from a lower weight & couldn't make it coz of his lifestyle, I think Nate couldn't do it coz of his age

    I agree with that, but I dont see Hatton fighting him win or lose against Pac. The best fights he can hope to land in the future are probably Holt, Bradley, or Urango. Not sure he fares against any of those guys Thats assuming he wins tommorrow as I suspect he will.

    Don't get me wrong I agree that he won't get a fight with Hatton, but I see him easily getting a fight with the winner of Holt/Bradley, as they are all in pretty much the same boat fo being talented but unrecognized by the wider public. A loss tomorrow screws him tho. One thing this does do though is open the Lightweight division right up. I can see Warren being bang on that WBO belt for Khan if he beats Barrera, maybe even trying to get the belt for that fight.

    I am speechless, here i am for weeks on end saying how good it has been to watch Nate Campbell comeback after the mistakes of the past (Peden) and then he does this?
    WTF? Some people just can't help themselves i guess.

    It really does sound like he just decided "to hell with the belts, I'm gonna move up after this anyway." He may have even made this decision some time ago when he found it difficult to get down. Then he probably tried to figure how close he had to come after making a token effort to come down, and still have the fight come off.

    It all sounds logical, but doesn't sound fair to Funeka at all. I hope he had to give a good portion of his purse to Funeka.

    I dont know that it was planned, but Campbell and his team dont seem to think that Funeka earned the title shot anyways, so I wouldnt completey rule it out that they had a feeling it was going to come to this.

    This is really disappointing. I really hope it's due to his age and inactivity as opposed to what some people are speculating about.
