Who can name the tribal chief of this group, who died with his people that day.
Wasnt Sitting Bull killed a week earlier?Payback for Little big horn.Custer had it Coming!!!Damn shameful era,When you consider how not long ago that was, speaking in broad national history.I remember a documentary years ago about Leonard Peltier and A.I.M and the uprising in the 70's.

Yeah mon, Sitting Bull was killed a week earlier. Although he wasn't killed directly by the US military, I do believe they were trying to arrest him, and Sitting Bull tool a bullet in the ensuing chaos. Yeah Custer bit off more than he could chew when he attacked at Little Big Horn. Crazy Horse was another leader who was killed while in custody of the US Army.

What blows me a way is how fast it all happened. If you've read the book Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee, the loss of a way of life for all the tribes west of the Mississippi happened over the space of about 40 years.

Back to the question. The Indian Chief I have quizzed about was in fact a half brother of Sitting Bull. That question is still unanswered.

It was Bigfoot, yeah. After Sitting Bull was killed, Bigfoot was leading his people to the reservation at Pine Ridge for safety, when the Wounded Knee incident took place.
